Ahhhhh, really? Seriously? Did I just read what I thought I read? I'm not trying to criticize, yet to say such a thing. Where does that come from? Is it really humility, or is it something else? Is John MacArthur not a man? Even angels in scripture which are bowed down to, or revered more highly then they ought to be exhort those who bowed to worship God only. Should we be calling him Holy John, or Reverend father John now? No. Perhaps it was a figure of speech. Both you and MacArthur are worthy of and need prayer just as much as we all do. You and MacArthur are brothers who sit at the same table. You fellowship, you partake in and are on the same level. Let's honor, respect and support our Pastors and leaders, Amen! Whenever I’m listening to MacArthur speak, I sit calmly and listen. When I watched his recent sermon, I was at the edge of my chair and wanted to scream at my TV in joy as if my team just won the Super Bowl. God bless that man. I’m praying for all of my brothers and sisters in Christ in CA. I’m watching you all from Hawai’i. While we’re facing similar issues here, I was disgusted with Governor Newsom’s actions to make the churches close down again while encouraging protests. And then I began to see you all take a stand with the Lord and gathered in fellowship anyway! I’m very encouraged by your boldness! We need more Christians to stand up.

With all due respect, I think the church should stay closed a little while longer, especially w/ the cases going up. I speak these words in kindness and from experience. Let me explain: My church had this happen. They were on the bandwagon of "Open the church!!!" in the midst of COVID. They opened... Many got COVID and a few died. And they opened it back up when cases fell again... without apologizing, without acknowledging the outbreak. It offended me because I have people in my home who are at high risk of DEATH from COVID. I felt uncomfortable and overwhelming disturbed w/ the carelessness of my church family. My mother commands our household (my father is vibin w/ Jesus), and kept us home during our mini outbreak, so thank God for wisdom. Even Jesus told us to be wise. Yes, God has us in His hand, but He told us to use His wisdom. Proverbs 1:7, 8:11 This year proved that church is not a building, and that some Christians, even I, have fallen more in love with the building than w/ God. What will we do when true persecution rises? When taking to the streets and screaming "Open the Church!" will cost you your families lives? Get used to not being in an open church. It'll be gone before you know it's old comforts again.

My church has opened since the beginning of June. We are located in the middle of the City of Chicago which is a well known liberal wasteland that has recently elected a lesbian mayor. When we opened we thought we were going to be left alone to worship and carry on out regular services. Keep in mind we were more then careful, handed out face masks, professionally sanitized the main sanctuary, spaced people out at 6 feet and prepared an overflow room. Despite all this the mayor decided to go on a power trip, and began demanding that she educates us in obedience. At first she appeared reasonable as if she wanted to talk. But soon come the 2nd Sunday after reopening, she attempts to turn our neighbors against us by blocking/ prohibiting all street parking around a 10 block radius around our church and made sure that our neighbors know why the parking authority's did this. This was clearly an act of intimidation and an attempt to turn our neighbors against us. We do not use street parking, we use a privately owned parking lot owned by a near by bank which we rent the lot from. As this did not discourage our congregation, for the evening service (we hold 2 services on Sunday) she ordered her minions the Chicago Police Department to illegally block access to the privately owned parking lot which was rented to us. Thus she ordered the cops to brake city ordinance in order to intimidate us. After all this nonsense, during following week a high ranking police official issued us 3 tickets of "disorderly conduct" for holding service against the Bolshevik queens orders. This is the reality in which the modern church is forced to operate in. in the end only the true and pure in faith will stand and honor God while the week and corrupt will lose what little faith they have and bow to men.

I have trouble wrapping my head around Calvin burning people alive. Love John MacArthur. I think Calvin had it pretty much pretty much on the spot not that it matters. What matters is the Bible. When you start arguing about arminianism and Calvinism I kind of think this does not make God to Happy. Again John teaches in a calvinist vent but so what? He's about the best in town alongside guys like John Burnett. Who is not exactly a hundred percent calvinist either. Calvinists had a lot right and a lot of other people have a lot right. Dr. MacArthur is not what you would call fully reformed. While he does teach the doctrines of Grace (AKA Calvinism) he is dispensational (not covenantal) premillenial and has a different understanding of Israel in prophecy. And from a Presbyterian reformed perspective, the fact that he is credobaptist they might argue also makes him less than fully reformed (as a Reformed Baptist myself, I would argue against that one). The important thing is that MacArthur's soteriology is sound.

I'm comfortable in pretty much any church, incl. charismatic Catholic ones. The fundamentals of faith are the same in pretty much all Christian churches. It's the nitty gritty doctrinal issues that diverge. The bible has that well covered.

I pray my church will open completely. They have opened partially, but I think it is time to open completely. I think that the leaders at my church are being extra cautious, which is good, but the lack of person-to-person fellowship on a weekly basis is devastating. May the Lord give wisdom to the leaders of the church in America and to lead them to be "bold and courageous." As far as the political intentions of those on the Marxist Left, it is obvious that they want to take down our duly elected president, who by the way has been a friend of the community of faith, especially the Christian community. DN,......It says the assembling our ourselves (the actual believers) together. This is a spiritual gathering. Of being of one mind and one accord. Nowhere does it state a physical gathering. The church is completely filled with unbelievers. Do you really think this is what is being taught here, for us to gather together with unbelievers? Or does it make more sense for us to be gathered spiritually together, all having the same correct understanding of the scriptures? To be likeminded? The church is nothing but a country club.
