I doubt that John MacArthur would ever see this but I am so thankful for his handling of the Word. I have listened to hundreds of hours of his expository preaching and it has been such a delight. I used to not listen to anyone for fear of being mislead. I saturated myself with scripture and memorized large portions of scripture in the past but continued to struggle with my flesh, until I realized that is a normal part of christian life, as stated clearly in Roman's 7. I am 63 years old, been a christian for forty years and never really understood that we are being sanctified. I didn't know how to have victory in Christ, I thought we were covered by grace, because there was no real victory over sin until recently. I now know that God actually empowers us by the indwelling in the Holy Spirit and calls us to live in holiness, not by my power, but by His Spirit that dwells in us. It all began to make sense as I heard the Word preached and handled correctly. Thank you Jesus, continue to bless John whom I love,having never met yet am so enlightened by his faithful handling of the Word of God.

Robert...I was in the same situation....for years not walking in victory, because I didn't understand the TRUTH of the scriptures correctly ( because many Pastors don't explain or interpret Scripture correctly) John explains the Scriptures like no one else....I believe many out there ( if seeking the truth) are experiencing the same thing as we are.....Thank you God for Men who speak and preach the truth like John Macarthur!!!....:)

Many years ago, I didn't care for MacArthur because he can seem abrasive. I've realized over the last 10-20 years, he's been faithful in proclaiming the gospel when all sorts of other big names from a decade ago have capitulated. I have deep respect for the man.

Pablo Martinez I totally agree brother! I met him once in person and only was close enough to get a smile lol but it all happened right when I first got saved. First time I heard him preach was in person at a big church in Woodstock Ga. His message was on eternal security and impacted me greatly. I spent the majority of my nearly 60 years in sin and the throes of addiction. The Lord pulled me up out of that morass and a sister sent me a video of Pastor John MacArthur preaching. I have spent (and continue to spend) much time learning Scripture and being amazingly blessed by his teaching and R C’s, Steve Lawson and so many more at Ligonier and GTY. @PJ Scotland Yes, it's a short leap to worship the messenger over the Message, but even God praises people sometimes. It's not a sin to receive praise, but it should always be directed back to Christ. Revelation tells us those who receive crowns will lay them at the feet of Jesus. Yes, be careful to put Jesus in his rightful first place and focus on Him, but we can and should appreciate his servants and encourage them in the Lord. God has assigned leaders to unite us in Him, not divide true followers of Christ between them. Paul had something to say about that to the Corinthian church.

I would! Skin color doesn't matter one iota, just like weather a person is tall or short. God made us all a little different, but if someone is truly born again...it matters not. In fact, Conrad Mbewe has spoken at John MacArthur's conferences several times...and he is an excellent teacher/preacher of the truth! I personally pay more attention to weather the pastor teaches Correct Doctrine...that is the utmost concern. Too many pastors today follow the fads like Word-Faith, NAR, Liberalism, and other movements within Christianity that are false. So, to answer your question Bo, I think anyone who is truly born-again by the Spirit of God, would accept a preacher of color...any color. The problem is, is that much of the Church...isn't really the Church. They have never been saved. Jesus himself says in Matthew 7 ....I never knew you, away from me...you workers of darkness. Notice in the previous verses that he was speaking to those who called him Lord...and were preaching of Him. God Bless you brother!

I love listening to John MacArthur. I began listening to him on the radio first, over a dozen years ago, early in the morning while sitting in my car waiting to go into my workplace. I found his teaching difficult to accept at first, even though I grew up in a Christian denomination. But I kept listening to him and realized that what he was saying was "right on" in comparing it to the truth found in the Word of God. I love his expository teaching methods and him as a person, even though I've never met him. I am also amazed at how God has used him in the proliferation of His Word and His Truths worldwide and with the authoring of so many books. This man is leaving behind a legacy that is helping to bring millions of souls to God. Truth abounds in John's teachings and all we as Christians need to do (as I see it) is: 1) put God first in our lives; sincerely pray to God and seek His face, 2) dig into the Word, comparing what we've heard with what we read, 3) listen to the teaching of the Word as taught by holy men of God who truly know the Word and walk in faith, 4) follow the leading of the Holy Spirit, who will, without a doubt, lead us into all truth, 5) and to, (as John has said), proclaim the Word ourselves --- to our families, neighbors, friends, co-workers, enemies, etc.

I agree with Dr. MacArthur,it breaks my heart that there are people in this country that could care less about abortion but worry about older people like myself who are horrified at the murder of the innocents!

You may have given up on yourself because you are older but I have not. I am also sick of the hysteria over abortion. Better if you all start preaching against the rape and sexual abuse of " innocents " ,some no more than children themselves who are impregnated then made to have the babies they are not ready for. Not all babies are a gift from God and if you all think so then tell that to a rape/sexually abused child , teenager,woman ! Also, some babies are aborted because of the threat to the mother's life, at times this is not realised until late into the pregnancy, even during birth there may need to be the choice between mother or child surviving, who are any of you to say that the baby's life is worth more than the mother's ? Disaster may strike at that time but the mother could go on to have more children without any problems and what if she already has children, are they to be left without the mother they need ? Is a woman's life so cheap if not worthless to you all except as breeding machines ? Don't bother about talking of God's will in the situation , unless you suggest that a child conceived as the result of rape/sexual abuse is God's will !
