Great movie that was practically ignored upon release and sadly never seemed to gain much of an audience. I first saw it at age 10 . Young yes, but I loved it. My mom rented it from blockbuster and we sat and watched it one night with my siblings . It was probably the quietest we kids had ever been while watching a movie because we were so engrossed and at the edge of our seats. I remember it was a school night but there was such a bad blizzard outside we knew that school would be closed the next day. Watching this film late at night with a blizzard raging outside gave it an even more creepy, tense atmosphere and we all jumped and screamed in fear when in the middle of the movie the storm caused our lights to blink and the tv flickered. It stuck with me for the next 20 years or so and finally I rewatched it again a few years back and it holds up and is still a creepy atmospheric, thriller. Probably anyone whose watching this scene has already seen the movie but if you haven't then I suggest giving it a watch!

That's such a cool memory to have associated with this excellent film! Thanks for sharing! It's so neat there happened to be a blizzard when you guys watched it, since there's a snowstorm in the movie, as well. I love it when the weather outside and the season fits the atmosphere and feel of the movie I'm watching! That's why I tend to watch this movie more often during the Fall and Winter. I wish I had seen this movie when I was as young (or even younger) as you were (It was only a few years back when I found the DVD and watched it for the first time), but I guess better late than never!

This is an awesome and underrated film. At the time I was a CSI and I loved this movie. John Malkovich is the epitome of an asshole person in charge who has no idea what we faced at the scenes. Superb.

Andy Garcia and John Malkovich--if this movie didn't do well it was the director's fault because both of these actors are amazing to watch onscreen.

malcovich showing there's no such thing as a small role... i wish you had his entire performance from the film.

movie didnt do well because it was not promoted at all...the trailer was weak and gone quick. one of the best movies with a radical twist at the end which influenced other movies. Malkovich blew me away in this role. he had about 15 mins of screen time and owned it. you knew you were witnessing greatness here. i cannot explain how powerful his role was. in 99% of the movie in this genre, the casting would be a typical FBI guy seen in every episode of Law & Order...then comes Malkovich! this would normally be a C role in a movie for an actor and JM made it an A role. his little finger movements still are with me...so simple but instant stamp for his character. great dark and atmospheric thriller...watch it!

"if this movie didn't do well it was the director's fault because both of these actors are amazing to watch onscreen." It was actually the fault of the studio that didn´t let the director do the film his way.

Malkovich ironically calling him “bro” in 1992 is SO prescient considering it would take at least two decades for that to resonate.

"Jennifer 8" war nicht nur ein unglaublich spannender Film, sondern Andy Garcia auch sehr "mein Typ"! Ein Latino, wie er im Buche steht. - Wie ich eben gelesen habe, wurde er allerdings in Kuba geboren.

I have a theory (if you could call it that, it's a bit thin and obvious, perhaps, to really be considered a "theory") about actors. We give them so much creedence, listen to their opinions on real-world matters, etc. In essence, they are just good-looking (or in Malkovich's case, interesting looking) people who SOUND COOL SAYING STUFF. It's funny, and sad in a way, that they get so much more attention and respect than the writers. I mean, without the writers, the world a particular movie asks you to inhabit for a while WOULDN'T EVEN EXIST. The actor just says the shit some other, smarter person wrote. Fine, that's a simplification, but in essence it's true. But in rare times, like when it's someone like Malkovich, they really just elevate the dialogue. I mean, this scene has stayed with me over the years and, to be perfectly honest, I barely remember the rest of the film. I remember Uma in a windy, lonesome house where someone has turned on the gas burners. That's about it. But this scene is masterful. And it's because Malkovich just TALKS SO DAMN COOL.
