Malkovich is as spooky and calculating as he was as the assassin pursuing Clint Eastwood in In The Line of Fire. He is such a great actor.

The "Heat" scene De Niro/Pacino has nothing on this mind blowing piece of art. Brilliantly filmed by B.Robinson, Garcia and Malkovich go at it with intense mastery. This movie is a true gem.Watch it!

I don't get why you have to down one to elevate the other. They're totally different scenes, both good in their own way.
@Tusc99694 жыл бұрын
Not even close LOL Love this scene but De Niro/Pacino scene is untouchable and a league of its own!! You're better off comparing this to Walken/Hopper scene in "True Romance" and it would STILL beat this scene.

Gutsy comparison, Lars. And I think there is merit to yr argument. This film has always been insanely underrated.

The scariest thing is (SPOILERS) we will never know if Ross thought is was John Berlin because he was so drunk and the snow and cold he couldn't see or he could see and just realized it was John Taylor either way works when he says "Holy shit John, John, not you, not you!" I think he realized it was Taylor and just couldn't believe it was a cop all along.

He absolutely did NOT think it was John 'Garcia' Berlin. He recognised JOHN. The other cop.
@jscountrygirl85_32611 ай бұрын
The fact that Berlin always called him Ross and not Freddy also supports this. Taylor said "Hey Freddy" to him before he shot him, which I'd like to think maybe gave him a hint that it wasn't his buddy Berlin. Either way, it's heartbreaking that Berlin still had to live with the possibility that his best friend thought he killed him.
@davsny511 ай бұрын
@@jscountrygirl85_326Good point that makes total sense especially when he said to Saint Ann that he always called him Ross and Taylor said he heard him call him Freddy another subtle clue to Taylor. They just did it in Berlin’s voice like they did in Dead Bang 1989 to fool the audience.
