@@aidan9218 Hi. St Andrews in Scotland. Fish played his last Gig with Marillion as the headline act. If You look for that, here on KZbin, it'll give the precise details. Cheers. Be Well.

Amazing to find this. I was there too , doing the sound for Tam White and Boz Burrell - didn't know any of it was filmed. It was a wet and muddy event and when I finally caught up with John (We knew each other from back in the late sixties) he was 'trademark' pissed in the St Andrews bar. Wonder if there is any more footage.

I've seen him with just the keyboards guy and his other mate Roland the drum machne but never alone with Roland the drum machine.🤣😂😅👍👍👍 It was just after this and even further north at Aberdeen Ritzy's. Saw Richard Thompson there too. Both legends.

My guitar playing always gets better after a few beers - at least it sounds that way to me ... and then it falls off a cliff! I saw him live around this time and he was p****d out of his head and brilliant.

I engineered sound for some of his gigs, it was an act ,ive seen him do the scary drunk John for a local radio interview and then be totally sober John within 10 minutes for a BBC radio interview, I think it worked as a entertainment for him. He was often "difficult" for no reason, Love the music , but the person.......

@@marxman00 Like after the crazy dealer harmonics 11:34 ... the elegant chord right at the end. Sounds sober as a judge. Best version of Dealer I've seen.

There are far better versions of Lookin on at least 2 and with all important band. Wheres the subtlety?
@billhargreaves73373 ай бұрын
I’d say different rather than better. I’ve seen and heard many different versions of a lot of his songs and I’ve usually liked them all. I wonder how he felt about the various versions, like if he had a favourite. Or maybe he just liked to vary the performances, rather than just churning them out the same way at every gig. I like ‘with band’ versions and this solo version. It could even be that when he was booked for this gig, none of the guys he usually worked with were available.

Not good. Best version on 1980 studio album Grace and Danger Pure poetry and jazz, no heavy leaning on various gizmos. Did not need to be tampered with
