I ordred the OM-45 JM about 48 hours after the announcement. I'm 2nd in the ordering queue at Guitar Center (for the whole country). So this one is definately going to a fan, who also plays guitar. I also have the original OM-28JM, the OMJM, Silver Sky Nebula and Lunar Ice. I would never play out with the OM-45 JM but I will play it and not let it sit under a bed for all its life. Belive me I'm questioning my own sanity for ordering it. Lol. But I figure if I need the cash later, it will only go up in value ... hopefully.

One single scratch on the top -3$k, maybe one on the side -1k$? Buddy of mine has a brand-new Taylor 814 & a brand new Gibson 1960 Hummingbird…. He plays is $400 vintage Yamaha , because what if ant they are only $4-5k? @@TomButwin

I’ve already spoken to my local Martin dealer to have his rep get me one. I will gig it I know many people won’t it will be sparingly in small quiet venues where I can get by using mics I don’t plan on installing a K&K pure mini in this like I have in all my others but that could change too.

My wish was to have another limited run of the original OM28JM , even with this finish , Dovtail joint for the 28 vs Bolt on neck or simple dovtail for the OMJM , big difference . I guess we will wait another 20 years for it .

Fishman Matrix undersaddle. With his full band tours, it’s usually wireless unit into an Avalon U5 DI. On the solo tour, he’s got some Fishman Aura DIs in a rack.

I don’t like guitars with bling, but If I could choose between this and the bitcoin guitar, I would go for that, hands down. Maybe that’s the point with this grayish color. Just be humble? OK, if you buy one and just use it as a giveaway, I will take it, no hard feelings.!

Ordered the OMJM yesterday. It’s a limited JM - it’s going up in price for sure. Contrary to the other comments, I love the finish. I’ve been waiting to get an OMJM for a while.

I am sorry, I don`t think this will go to a JM fan collector. I am pretty sure it will go to someone who will resell it for 50% more. This is just a trend with these expensive, limited runs. Heck even the Rick Beato guitar fell to that faith at the beginning.

When the first picture leaked, I thought WHY!!!! Why would you pick this awful color? However, it’s not too bad. The price is insane. Thankfully, there is a cheaper option. To be completely honest it doesn’t seem too exciting other than it’s the 20th anniversary. I prefer the original version. Tom are you attending a show in the fall?

I think I share your opinion on it. I have a feeling I'd like the finish a lot better in person, but the original OMJM is just classic (As with all Martin guitars, usually). I'm not planning on it this fall, unfortunately. I saw two on the last leg (Detroit and LA) and it was incredible. Of course, he'll probably switch up the production or something and I'll be sad I'm not seeing another show, I'm sure lol. How about you?

Glad we agree. 😊 I traveled to the Pittsburgh show in March. Hands down best set list of the tour. Just my opinion. Attending the Baltimore show in October. He’s an hour away, I can’t miss it. I spent a little extra for closer tickets this time around. Excited!

Why is it that you youtubers guys playing guitar doing lives or these kind of videos or tutorials, etc, always move the guitar at the end like simulating vibrato? 05:55 Lol, it definetely doesnt do anything, the vibrato comes from the movement of the fingers, not from moving the neck back and forth. Its weird, cause I only see it in amateurs or non professional guitar players. I've never seen John mayer doing that kind of thing, for example , playing the acoustic. My take is that its just for show, lol. But pros almost never do it.

But if you want to get technical about it, you can bend the neck a bit and get a really light tremolo type thing. Go to far and it’ll snap, which would be better for views and comments.
