Seeing this guitar reminds me of the movie Pleasantville where everything was monochrome and gradually starting getting color. I would have put a black headstock on it to keep the full monochrome front. It is a great sounding guitar. I played an 000-28EC and immediately started playing like Clapton, but I had to put it back as it was just too much pressure for me to keep it up. I enjoy Mayer, especially his early songs.

Platinum gray burst! I didn't like it when I first saw it but quickly changed my mind. The herringbone purfling and that indescribable color rosette is magnetic. I've come across two JM Martins over the years and neither did anything for me. The Engelman spruce on this one may have something to do with it but that particular OM is a winner, a keeper- bright, articulate. Martin does it again!

I don’t understand taking a beautiful piece of Englemann spruce and spraying it funeral gray in shades. That said, at least to me, it has a warmer tone than the original version. I see it’s already sold to a JM fan , so I hope he or she treats it well.

The glossy headstock looks amazing. Martin should start making their standard series have glossy headstocks if the body is glossy. Satin headstocks should only be used if the guitar has a satin body finish.

He likes thumb over F# and B on a Bm - so 1 & 11/16th might be for that!

Really dislike this shade of silver / grey! The original JM Martin models are so lovely, and in traditional colours, I prefer them hugely!!

The color is not quite there for me. Martin should've faded the gray burst to black edges, like Fender does it's silverburst

Hmmm, second demo I have seen, and so far not impressed, and I am a Martin guitar owner. The older JM signature guitars sound better, and look better. Prefer a natural spruce top.
