I’ve seen him live many times. He uses no tricks or auto tune. His band is top shelf. These guys are for real.

He even admits in interviews to using autotune. In studio and live. You can hear it all over his early records and performances. However it doesn't sound like he is using it here. Maybe he dropped it after his vocal injury. He is certainly being more careful with his voice, even allowing DRH to sing parts for him.

@@davidphilipsmusic just remember: autotune is not pitchcorection. He almost never used one of those live except for dvd recordings, which makes sense since you want the product to be perfect. But otherwise he never used it live.

I'm always mesmerized by his ability to play while singing/not looking at the fretboard. 5:45 he gets in the zone and play crazy good solo without even looking at the guitar. Such a great performer

Nice performance. Weird to see John play some of the parts that Robbie used to play from Continuum songs, specifically the opening lick here and the thirds lick in Slow Dancing. Love DRH doing the middle 8 of this again though.
