He played Heart of Life before Belief in this setlist, which is why the first guitar was tuned to Eb just FYI

So heart of life and belief is originally tuned in Eb ?
@JustinJeske3 жыл бұрын
@@diditmahendra6113 no, Heart of Life is in Eb. Belief is not which is why he needed to switch guitars.

John Mayer's live Belief delivery is always over the top. Beautiful solo. Total package. He so has it going on, as usual. I love it. Love him

I love the fact that this video actually showed the guitar during the solos. So many videos always zoom in on the face so this was a blessing haha

Literally 99% of the crowd has no idea what he's talking about. He could have played the entire song like that and most of his fans wouldn't notice.

thats the funny part. I dont even think John noticed until the rest of the band came in then he realized he was out of tune

I didn’t realize he dropped ½ a step for anything. Must help save the vocal chords live
@michaelm44645 жыл бұрын
It's probably more of a matter of him preferring the tone and ease of playing when tuned a half step down than doing so to accommodate his vocals and make the song easier to sing. Playing a half step down is a very common thing with blues guitarists and let's not forget that one of John's biggest influences is Stevie Ray Vaughan who often played in Eb tuning.

Hey John go back to Fender strat !!
@chkby44 жыл бұрын
Kuro Kamakura I agree, the tone he got from his strats and two rock were just more bell like in the verse riffs, and during the solo the neck pick up just had a more organic woodiness and grit. The pra pups lost lots of his dynamics.
