I don't comment on many videos, but I felt compelled to thank you for this haha! This album is something special and i want to learn every song on it. Thanks again!

I like how you open with the intro being the hardest part, then drop some nasty right hand picking like it's no big deal. Thanks for the tutorial, I'll probably just strum my way through the back half haha.

I was on low sleep when I made this, and I tend to get a little confused/goofy when I'm tired haha. As for the nails, I did major in guitar as an undergrad. I don't coat my nails with anything, but you're right steel can be very rough!

I get nervous every time I play in front of people. The best way to deal with phobias is repeated exposure. I force myself to play in front of people as much as possible, and I learn how to deal with stress and use it to my advantage. Another factor is practicing. Practice builds confidence. Keep raising the bar while practicing on your own, and your live performances will also get better.

Beautiful lesson alan ....but would like to point out one small thing that i saw in live john mayer concert while playing this song was that during the last section of the intro instead of hammering ur pinky from 2nd to 5th fret john mayer does a pull off from 2nd to 0 fret....else everything was perfect

Its a little hard to follow at times, but you are still a good teacher and you rock at playing and it still helped so thanks for this. You seem very nice too, just keep working on your teaching method:P

You're nails are rad. Are you a classical guitar student? Tough to not have them break or wither if there is no coating on acoustic strings huh? This is excellent, you're ever so kind to put this out. Thanks for teaching so well! Gave me some good laughs in this given your modesty, as well as a new song to play. Thanks again!

Hey Adam :), Love all your covers, learn so much :D I was wondering if you could make a tutorial on Gabrielle Aplin's "Panic Cord"? I'm trying to learn it buy ear, but i can't quite get the finger picking. Trying to learn this song for an audition, there aren't any tabs online, just chords and strumming and I really want to learn the acoustic version (finger picking). It would be amazing if you could!

Hi Rebeka, Don't know if I have time to make a tutorial, but let me point you in the right direction. The pattern is very similar to "Time of Your Life" by Green Day. Here's a tutorial for how to fingerpick that: /watch?v=xoM-M6P08uo The strings you pluck might change for certain chords, but the basic pattern and rhythm will be maintained. Hope this helps! Cheers, Adam

Adam, I have a question for you. Have you ever had a problem at performing? I mean being nervous and stuff. Because it's terrible for me, no matter how hard i try, my fingers shake the life out of me when I'm performing, even for the smallest group of people and I sound horible. How can one deal with this?

Hey Adam Cantor, thanks for sharing this tutorial! You've got a nice relaxed teaching style. I've still got the second half of the song to learn but I made a short video of myself playing the first half after working through your tutorial. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z4ium6iHjZ6VetU
