Before, I didn't understand people who cried when they heard an artist live Until, in 2008, I saw John live for the first time, and I cried like a little child. Unbelievable how someone can call directly into the soul and ultimately tear it apart. Since that, I have seen him many times.

This is a killer performance, isn't it? So raw, so tender, so true, so screaming and weeping and ... Actually I am a classical opera singer (bass) and as an instrument I just play piano (mostly J.S. Bach). Usually I detest pop music. But not with John Mayer, and especially not with this very performance of Slow Dancing In A Burning Room. That guitar solo is an emotional eruption, and after 25 times it still transports me into space.

When I grew up everyone in my age group hated John Mayer and saw him as cliche girl pop music. Fast forward a year after high school I survived a serious car accident that almost killed me. Still recovering from multiple fractures in my spine, a relative of mine convinced me to go see John Mayer in San Diego during the summer. They wanted to get me out of the house to boost my mood. Mayer went on to put one of the best live performances I had ever seen. I was literally left speechless and had my mind blown by his guitar playing abilities. Like the girl in this video I started to cry during his solo of Slow Dancing In A Burning Room. The climax of the song just reverberated throughput my entire body and made me emotional. I was so grateful to be alive. To be a survivor. To be in that moment under the stars experiencing the raw expression of his musical talents. I'm in my 30s now and every guy from my generation now reveres Mayer and is their favorite technical guitar player. Sorry to ramble, I randomly stumbled on this video and it made me emotional. Wanted to just put my story out there and tell others that life is incredible and worth fighting for. As someone brought back from deaths door it truly gave me a new take on life. Even 15 years later. Hope everyone out there gets the love they deserve.
