I love how John seems to know that the average person wants to hear the solo from the album, but he also wants to do his own thing and as a result he gives us both. It's also cool that he uses the solo from the album as a queue for the band to go into the next part of the song. He never ceases to amaze me.

One of few times I genuinely like the tone of the Silver Sky. It usually comes off tinny and not as warm as a Strat. Perfect example was the Trio show this year. But something about JM playing this night, this building, that gear, that particular guitar sounded mean. Easily the best guitarist of the last 23 yrs, I’ll dig my heels in on that one.

John should come in India man We all love him He's single-handedly keeping blues alive I always thought of either playing melodic like Gilmour and Clapton or about playing super fast like Yngwie and EVH, Steve Vai and Joe Satriani But then I heard John Mayer, I didn't like shredding but he got me to play fast but still be melodic Easily in my top 3 guitarists of all time, if not my most favourite (interchangeable with Eric Clapton, John Frusciante and David Gilmour) He has the solo crafting skill of David Gilmour and Jimmy Page and Clapton And also the blues feel of Clapton, Jeff Beck and Hendrix Unique like Brian May and also tied with John Frusciante for rhythm playing and facial expressions I'd do anything to see John live and with the passing of EVH, the desire to see him has intensified by 1000%
