Stopped drinking and smoking 20 years ago. Best thing I ever did. My two sons have never seen me drunk and embarrasing.

I completely agree with you John after turning 66 drinking was getting so old and boring I got tired of it I just quit one day it's a personal choice to stop and not start again. As for me it just wasn't fun anymore😊
@julittok Жыл бұрын
We could say you drank most of your life though, so not sure it counts as quitting. It's like saying well i'm 76 and I decided to stop being a douchebag and I feel great, it's time to do some good in the world.
@austinguitarschool1432 Жыл бұрын
Well to infer that I was a douchebag until I stop drinking you obviously have nothing but hate towards anyone people have the right to drink alcohol just as much as people have the right to stop it's a personal choice I enjoyed it and then I didn't it never made me a douchebag it's quite funny when people call someone else names they're really talking about themselves😃

I've been sober for about 7 years now I got high everyday for most of my teens and into my late 20s and I just woke up one day and just didn't want to get high or drunk anymore it's been the most freeing feeling in my life I'm no longer dependent of drugs or alcohol I've been able to be successful and get everything in my life together
@Willd-ki8ix Жыл бұрын
My parents own nightclubs I've been professional musician my entire life. I think about 20 years ago I just said I've had enough and I stopped drinking or drugging. I don't regret it at all. People say I didn't have a problem but they're not in me
@user-wu1gm8xz9u11 ай бұрын
People will say you have a problem when you don’t and that you don’t have a problem when you do. It all comes down to what you believe is truly best for yourself despite what everyone else is saying because like you said, they are not in you. Cheers my friend.

As a 48 year old woman, it has been shocking to me how I could offend others simply by stating, "I don't drink," when offered an adult beverage. As if I am calling them out?!? I am not. I am simply stating my preference since I know myself, and I know I do not make good decisions when I am not in my right mind. In the beginning, it felt very alienating and lonely, but eventually, I found healthier friends who love physical activities that keep me honest. I could never climb mountains hungover.

Desperate to stop drinking. Just don’t know how to deal with the boredom.
@SoberisDope Жыл бұрын
Matthew, you won't be bored because you will be healthier and stronger. You will have more energy to use your creativity. You can do many things with a new sober life. I used my sobriety to start a podcast, write a book, build an art company, make music, become a bodybuilder, learn how love again. Trust yourself. Getting drunk and partying on the weekends is a toxic spiral and that creates boredom. Check out the podcast and follow me on Instagram @soberisdope. We can talk more there. You are not alone. Choose sobriety.
