My whole life I never listened to Mayer because I was ignorant and thought he was some lame pop star. Then I saw Dead and Company live and he melted my face off and I started listening to his solo work. Wow what an artist what a guitar player. The fact that a mainstream artist from today is performing Robert Johnson gives me hope for the future of music.

2:30 to 2:53 is such a tasteful line of licks that sum up a couple inspirations of John. You got that high BB King note, the SRV shuffle and that Clapton run he does is all phenomenal; while still keeping it his own.

Learn Neon and its right-hand technique. Best advice possible😎. By time, try to improvise the shuffle part (that 1-min intro in LA). Music Is Win has a video about it. Something like 'Neon shuffle...'

If you place the pick in between your forefinger and middle finger (closer towards your knuckle) then it should be easy to retrieve it when you return to picking!
