Ignored Advice Productions I’m sure you’re well versed at flying combat sorties and evading capture after ejecting. After all only someone who’s actually lived to tell the tale would be armchair quarterbacking how and where to eject once hit (because all of us Airmen plan on being hit and know exactly when and where it will occur). But thank you ever so much for your input.

In 1987 I was part of the cast/filmmakers that made The Hanoi Hilton-a film about the prison they talk about in this clip. Among other things, we recreated those incredibly horrific torture scenes and even though they were not real it always bothered me to imagen how Fing bad it was for the men who actually experienced. Additionally, John McCain himself was in our film and I had the honor of meeting and working with him.

I wept while watching Obama's tribute and eulogy to this American hero. What a masterpiece of a human being John McCaine is. He recognized that America's greatest contribution to humanity is our example as a civil society. As brief as the human life is, I feel so blessed to have been alive while he was and to witness his example.

As the Vietnamese it such an embarrassment to see him tortured like that. However, numerous Vietnamese soldiers being captured by South Vietnam and the US was beaten to death, that's the tragic things in the war
@bernarddavis10502 жыл бұрын
There is no need for you to be embarrassed. McCain was NOT tortured in captivity. As the son of an American admiral, he was seen as a a very valuable prisoner, and given especially good treatment . In gratitude, McCain collaborated fully with his captors. He invented the stories of his "torture" after his release to justify his collaboration. He was a man of low moral character who abandoned his wife (who had waited loyally for him during his imprisonment) when she was badly injured in a car accident. Americans are extremely gullible to fall for this lying nonsense.
@applesandgrapesfordinner46265 ай бұрын
@bernarddavis1050 It's okay to admit there were no heroes in the war and that everyone was a victim of it in some way. Yes, the Vietnamese were most justified in their anger, but it would be lying to say that they weren't all heroic neither. It's just a sad consequence of that brutal war.

I'll always hate Trump for how he treated McCain. When says he saw men who went though worse. I don't know. He likely means immediate barbaric torture. Finger cutting and worse. Being starved and broke down in solitary is a whole different beast. Nobody will ever call him songbird to my face. When one beating from me makes em take it back. They'll get how strong he really was. I hope by the time he died and found peace and knew he did better than most of us could've dreamed. That those of us that live this country. Even Democrats. Had love for him that crossed party lines. We lost one of the greatest Americans of all time when we lost John McCain. A true soldier. And he never bad mouthed Obama. And absolute gentleman and a true class act. John McCain is a throw back to what made America the greatest. It's not this hate filled bullshit trump spews. It's being willing to put it all on the line for each other. Pushing it as far as you can. Setting standards that are unreachable. It took years to break him. And he wasn't happy with it. He continued to serve this country in one way or another until the day he died. I'm disgraced he had to witness the likes of trump become president. He didn't deserve that.

Let’s see how well trump could handle what this man endured. My now fiancé, father was a navy oral surgeon and rebuilt Johns mouth after he came back POW. Now as far as being a part of war and what he ever did that was conceived as criminal…that’s another story, but the man was tough as nails and he had them driven into him during torture, literally…his mouth was rotten when he escaped. Vietnam seemed like a super sick government social experiment to test power
