I'm 64 now and from the uk, lucky enough to see John play live over here twice, hes always said it like it is, one of the greatest songwriters ever in my opinion..his songs have been the soundtrack to my life..pure class, thank you John.

85 to 89 is probably my favorite era of John. He really came into his own and made some classic music. Scarecrow, Lonesome Jubilee and Big Daddy, all stellar albums. Thanks for the post.

82' to 89' Mellencamp was and still is amazing. Those songs and that material really won't be touched. I still find his music enjoyable and i'm just 24. Still a kid who doesn't know much about myself or life but I know John figured out life early on and I can relate to what he is saying.

I was born in John's Small-town Seymour Indiana He graduated with my sister. And his family owned the local roller skating arena. My dad was good friends with John's uncle's.

He's an under-appreciated poet. I'm from the same town, same school, same homes, same friends. They'll bury me there too.

I lived in Bloomington IN for 10 years and saw him in town a few times. He has a huge estate right outside of town towards brown county. It’s way back in the woods.

I was @ that concert venue back in ‘87. They played that song 3 times in a row to capture footage for their video...pretty cool to see it now after all these years. Still a huge fan👍🏼🇺🇸

Thank you for numerous videos of Mellencamp content. I was wondering if you had the full interview from the 17:00-23:18 mark of this video. That interview used to be on KZbin, but I no longer can find it.

I do have it. I’ll post it. I didn’t because it was already on KZbin, but if it’s been taken down, I’ll post it myself.
