John Mellencamp is and amazing artist-straight up Americana music. He, Neal Young, and Willie Nelson organized Farm Aid Concerts/ fundraiser to help our American Farmers starting back in 1985 and it’s still going strong today.

This song, along with Small Town, Lonely Ol' Night, Rumbleseat, and R.O.C.K in the U.S.A. got a lot of play on MTV. The whole album is solid and I still listen to it to this day.

Studio legend Kenny Aronoff on the drums. (touring legend too.....Mellencamp, Seger, Fogerty, Melissa Etheridge, Smashing Pumpkins, Willie Nelson) Met him back in the day at a drum clinic. Super nice guy. We talked about his friendship with Neil Peart among other things. Still have the picture of him and I from that day.

Another Artist that's sort of like this, a story teller of the blue collar and farmers of America is James McMurtry. Songs like 'We Can't Make It Here' re similar to this though in a different musical style. I think you'll like him. He was great live.

That whole album is amazing not one bad song on there. This probably one of my favorites form him, but he does have a lot of great hits out there. Kenny Aronoff is the drummer here, he has worked with some amazing artists.

Doesn't stop John Mellencamp from being a Democrat. He knows the score. He also refused to let Ronald Reagan use his song Pink Houses back in the day because Reagan didn't have a clue that Mellencamp was criticizing America and loss of the American dream.
