You might get shit for the multi tool, but as a handyman I can complete 80% of projects with that tool… so well worth the weight!

Very nice gear vids. Thanks. I have most of my JMT gear from prior hikes. I'm getting the BV550 and trowel new from REI as I want to see what fits in advance and would pay more on ebay for new. Go figure! The deuce3 trowel seems like a sound choice. I can't afford a nice watch but will bring my fitbit along. I will also bring my GoPro and new Google pixel 5 phone. Wish me luck in this year's lottery.

Ahh, I’ve fallen prey to your influence - I’ve just bought a new pair of trainers for walking in, the Columbia shirt and a pair of sandals. I’m going on a camping holiday, walking in the Scottish Highlands in a week and I have perfectly good existing gear but watching your review made me do it....... ... Oh well, so much for minimalism on my part! But thank you for all the information and entertainment. You’re doing a great job, loving your videos, so organised, structured and thoughtful, and of showcasing your beautiful country.

I'm so sorry! We didn't mean to make you spend money, but only to inform you ;) The Scottish Highlands are high on our list by the way!

Film lady!! Good on you! Been using f3hp since made. The 28 is my go to for landscape. Some like 35 but I find the 28 just works with no edge issues. Lots of used out there. Have fun,keep on developing!!

Check out the thermocell. Maybe not for ultraweight hiking (maybe yes for me!) I use the original one. It sets up a force field that biting bugs hate with about a 10' radius. Seriously my wife would not camp without it. It makes you think there are no bugs around! You can even wear it while you hike. The downside is it makes a bit of trash with butane canisters and foil but NO BUG SPRAY. We don't even bring spray anymore. My son is super allergic to mosquito bites and it has been a lifesaver for him.

I hear great things about those! We've thought about getting one for the truck!

Hey guys, I have a few questions relating to the camera and the batteries, hopefully you can help me out on this 1. I'll be rocking the a6600 on the trail and I was wondering how many minutes do you get out of 1 battery when recording in 4K? 2. How many charges do you get out of the anker battery bank to charge the camera battery? 3. Also, was it easy to ask the staff at resupply spots to charge your stuff, or did you have to pribe them lol? Cheers, Chris

I'm confused about Owen's Sony setup... it looks like the lenses are full frame but the camera itself is a crop sensor? Wasn't that a bit of a mismatch?
@BoundForNowhere4 жыл бұрын
We had both cameras at the time which is why we have full frame lenses. Now we only have full frame after some upgrades

Ok, gotta be honest here...the big watch looks great on you! Another great video. Thanks for including the portion on CBD oil. Been thinking about that a lot lately given the increased access even over here on the east coast. SO, not sure if it was in the pack video, how much was your pack weight with a full bear can? I am not a camera person like you guys so I will be less that weight. Be safe out there!
@BoundForNowhere5 жыл бұрын
My pack with one day of food, full water, and bear can was 23 lbs! I would add a pound of food a day roughly on top of that

Hey Mac and Owen!!! I really enjoy your channel and hopefully I will get my rig together and meet you on the road. I do have a question about your new rig; The Vinyl Pop-up top; how is it holding up? How often do you clean it and have you had any issues with it? I had a pop up trailer way back in the day and I constantly had to clean the cloth/vinyl portion so mildew would not build up on it. I know you guys are full time and I wanted to know how the pop top was working out!! Thanks and can’t wait for the next segment!!!

Hey so it has held up really well and has not needed to be cleaned yet. I will talk about that in our next video which is a 6 month review of the camper!

Hey guys, I have another question; how are you utilizing the back seat in your SR5?? Did you take the seats out or build a shelving system?

We left the seats in because we have to have a seat to belt in the cat as well as the occasional friends we carry. One seat is dedicated to holding our table, cat, and ladder. I will include it on the next video
