That would be defeating the natural state of Salsa is all about universality and unity. We are Men We are Women that's about it and for certain, guess what, We are Both! In the same gender division : you can dance as a duo or couple partnering or as a team, whether you are gay or straight.

The reason why there is such a division as SAME GENDER is more to compare and judge based on equal strength and energy. The rules are yet the same as other division: synchronicity, musicality, choreography, TIMING, etc...
