Been watching John Oliver from 2014, he has educated me about issues in America and the rest of the world more than anyone else could. Show's are equally entertaining and informative. His brutal take on American systems being an outsider is so relatable and refreshing

It's an "injoke". Note how funny John thought it was. It's about how he is an actor playing the character of "John Oliver" and in one version, he's from the Bronx and doing a bad British accent.

hahaha, right? I thought she didn't know him and because of his category she just guessed he was like a sketch actor or something but I could be wrong here. It was super awkward on her part.

She was making a joke about him being in a “scripted” category, by pretending he was an actor playing a part like any other scripted tv series. She threw him the setup for comedic bit that he could run with. He loved it so much that he had to call her out at the end because he thought up a couple more jokes he wanted to throw out.
