You have to be musical with it and just shedding over stuff and this is coming from a professional bassist, but I started off on drums lol.

This song has evolved so much down thru the years. But with all due respect to those that came before him, CJ has taken this to a whole new level. Of course live is way different than recording, so while CJ is a super drummer, you gotta respect the guys that laid parts on the records! Ladell was the originator, and Calvin brought it to the new age. HOWEVER CJ is a stone cold monsta!✊🏾✊🏾

Dont like comparing drummers. But since I was a teenager I always had tony Royster Jr in his own class. Even with all the other drummers that was amazing. Tony just seems to be more fundamentally sound and gifted. But man it could be because Tony don't do drum covers like that anymore. These other drummers have overwhelmingly caught up... cj and Devon to me have been going crazy.. I can throw Tony Taylor in there too. J rod spanky varo lacy gabe Eric spears Clemons right there too. The drumming industry is insane right now. Calvin held it down in the gospel world for along time. He done passed the torched to thousands of drummers who followed him for years. I dont even listen to regular music anymore because the drum covers are so good.. I hope it becomes the main music of America soon. These musicians need more support from all communities. Especially rex his producing ability is fire too!

I definitely appreciate Ladelle, Chris, Calvin, and CJ. I think Gabe Bennett has evolved into the musical drummer of them all. Power, pocket and placement makes Gabe #1 in my book. I've never heard no other drummer sound like that. He's absolutely unique in his approach.
