I plugged all of these into my ReAxis, and holly shit man!!! I've been smashing my head trying to get these tones! I've tried Amplitube 4 Mesa pack, Positive grid Bias FX, and even this plugin, and couldn't for the life of me get good tones till now! I'm not trying to get his exact tone, but rather as a foundation to build upon! You are the shit! Many, many hours spent trolling YT to get me in that direction, and you nailed it!!!!!!

ToT is all Mesa Lonestar, no Marks used.... Systematic Chaos is all Mark IV...

The tones are very close and occasionally identical. Of course Petrucci's magical playing is also a huge part of the original tone. Hope to see more DT stuff, Train of Thought maybe? Superb editing on the video by the way.

If I good remember I was using the ts808 gain arround 9/10 o'clock volume at max ant tone arround noon 👍

Great tones!. You use sm57´s for both rhythm guitars. Have 3 questions: 1) how about a 2nd mic with more low end and sculpt the tone blended, like petrucci would do in studio and live. 2)What are the settings for distance and speaker on reaxis. 3)Have you tried blended mics and chorus with zero effect and full mix? it gets really interesting for a live application (the only thing missing from reaxis, for me, it's full midi support for bank and program changes, delay/reverb spillover, and standalone mode).

Fernando Toro Thanks ! To answer your questions ;) I tried all ReAxis mics but Imo both sm57 do a better job on the previous albums... Blended mics and chorus sounds great; if I good remember john use the chorus to have a bigger and more open sound it works well with the ReAxis too but I havent try yet in live situation because just as you I have some MIDI issues. For Distance over Time try : sm57/R121 or 2 sm57>Mesa V30’s>LD2 Yellow. I think its the closest tone you can get...

Hi ! Thanks. Not using the plugin at this moment but as I remember no eq (pre or post) were used. For the cab at the time, I cant remember the exact mic placement and it was only the "stock" 2D Redwirez V30... Now Mercuriall add the Morton pack and especially some mesa boogie IRs so it might be even closer I think and it sounds pretty good. ✌️

Indiana John Yes ! almost all presets have a chorus if I good remember ! use the reAxis chorus depth arround 3, speed arround 1 and mix to taste depends of the songs...
