"The Stars and Stripes Forever" is a famous march by American composer John Philip Sousa. It has been the Official March of the United States of America since 1987 when the U. S. Congress declared it so.
This standard and patriotic American march has been arranged for the Wind Quintet! Enjoy the rousing and lively parts, especially the famous piccolo solo. The flute part can be played with a piccolo, but it is really up to you.

That is really sweet! I’m not an expert at site reading, by any stretch - but I love seeing the music and hearing the music at the same time. I always wondered if those were Grace notes at the beginning.

Great arrangement...as usual in you¡¡... I want to give you some advice...Don´t put all the full score scroll¡¡ Do you know that anyone could make captures of every single page of you score?? Result: You are wasting your work by yourself...If you want to sell your music...just put two or three pages... it could be enough¡¡ Greetings from Venezuela.

Thanks Andreas for the encouragement and word of caution! I want to give my audience a full preview of the piece so as to encourage them to purchase. Yes there may be people who will illegally extract my arrangement through print screens. They would have to very painstakingly print screen many many times and resize all the individual bars to put into a score for 5 instruments. This will take hours upon hours, if not days. Alternatively they can part with US$12-20+ to get an instantly accessible PDF from me :) I hope the choice is pretty clear to them

Your point of view is really full of good intentions...I do admire this courage, but, please, You must to protect your work¡¡ It´s a simple advice from a follower...I am doing the same work as you (composing, arranging, etc.) and I do really hate that other one could take advantage of your own efforcement...Whit my deepest respect....

I believe. the people who like and want to play this patriotic song will tend to be the people who will buy it. I love that you did it for woodwind octet. Do you have any orchestral versions but use cello?

@@sallymj8957 Hello Sally! As a woodwind player (flute) myself, I stick to my own expertise in arranging for wind quintet. Plus, wind quintet arrangements are harder to find, which gives me more motivation to supply to this gap in the market. I could arrange for cello and strings, but I don't know how it will turn out or if my audience would even come to me to purchase a string arrangement. Arrangements for Strings are usually more widespread, so I do believe there's an arrangement for Stars and Stripes Forever somewhere out there!

@Matthew Tymczyszyn Hello Matthew, how are you? I'm a flute player, so I don't have a chance to play in a string ensemble. Like you, my experience with the other side (in my case Strings) is with a full symphony orchestra. Good to hear you have the chance to play in a full orchestra and understand the roles of wind instruments in an orchestra! :)
