No swearing. No profanity. No racism. No anti-religion. Just self deprecation. RIP Big boy. You left the stage too soon. No more standing in line. We are still laughing....
@grigori90613 жыл бұрын
@Stix N' Stones No it’s because you rarely see such a clean comedian gets so famous. Comedy is meant to make light of dark subjects to make talking about the more bearable, as such jokes covering darker topics tend to be more entertaining and attract a wider audience. Comedians like John, who focus almost entirely on self deprecation and speak very cleanly, rarely make it big and are almost always small time acts. QThe reason John is so beloved it’s because of his talent, his attitude, and because his jokes are still funny 5, 10, 15 years later.

Some commented that John doesn't use profanity. The first time I ever saw him he came out and said " I have lost 120lbs. (Many applause) Most people say yea I see it in your face. See it in my face? How big was my fucking head?" I did not see it coming and he killed me. He did use profanity in the early years but quickly learned that he didn't need it. My favourite comedian of all time. R.I.P. big guy.

He didn't rely on cursing or vulgarity but, even in this vid, he said "asshole" and "ass" and "hell," etc. ... but, to paraphrase the late Robin Williams, "It's ok, children, we've used these words today in a sentence." :p

This man made me laugh like no other. If you cannot find the flaws in yourself and make light of them, you are simply naive. We are all flawed in so many ways. I cannot count my flaws. I only wish I had the genius to make a buck pointing them out. Pinette is a personal hero for me in that he showed me it's ok to be flawed. We are all human.

My heart still bleeds that he's gone. I"ve given friends and family so much joy, turning them on to his comedy. One of my best memories is getting his autograph after his show at CapCity Comedy here in Austin maybe 4-5 years back; he was trying out some new material for "Still Starving" and totally rocked the joint. He was just so *nice* - friendly, patient, taking pictures with all his fans, it is WAY too bad that cell phone cameras were not common yet, and my partner and we did not get a picture of us with him doing the curious killer whales. What a kind, generous, piss-your-pants-funny man. My partner and I had his dvd of "I"m Starving" that we would pay for friends, one of whom was literally squealing and laughing so hard, gasping for air, BEGGING us to stop the disk so she could catch her breath. So of course you know we had to tweak her after that, doing the curious killer whales peering around the corner at her when we'd be out shopping.
