+Truth Seeker, Calvinism doesn't make God the author of sin. He is the author of the law(not to eat the forbidden fruit) and the fallen humanity is responsible for the very sin. Of course, the humanity was destined to fall according to God's will, in order to for the second Adam , Christ to come and save us so that sinners might possibly comprehend God's Grace towards them. God knows all because He is the one who is in charge of everything.

TS- they say that "If a man is spiritually dead, he cannot "choose" to serve god (nothing in scripture BTW)". If that is true, then man cannot ALSO "choose" NOT to serve him.... For me, it is very simple- we have the ABILITY to choose anything at anytime about anything. We either have that ability or we don't. God character, displayed by "When we were yet sinners, Christ died for us".... should tell everyone and anyone that he does not, never has, and never "will" anyone to Hell, but rather that they should be saved. Ezekiel 18:23 is God's own voice/words concerning this. The Calvinist cannot get past that verse in Romans, because they simply cannot grasp the fact that Paul is referring to the Jews of the OT. It has NOTHING to do with the cross and the only way..... once satan has offered that "chosen apple", they refuse to give it back, the poison is too tasty-and that is what all this really comes down to, unfortunately. But good for you TS, keep it up the good work. Nice to know there is a sincere heart that God has shed His light on

No matter what your thoughts on predestination, salvation is a work of God! Period! I was not looking for God when he saved me, and my friend neither were you! Where would we christians be, if God hadnt drawn us to himself? Now maybe there is some parallel out there, where Gods sovereign will draws us, and in some way shape or form, there is some acceptance or severe resistance on our part, i wouldnt know, when i think about that time, when The Lord was drawing me, there was no multiple choice, he drew me, and saved me, when i was perfectly happy as a hornet in my dead sin!

Wow! Even though this is a couple of years old what an absolute treasure this was to listen to. What an absolute blessing it is to get a glimps into the life of two wonderful men of God. They are both ministers for The Lord and have two totally different ways to deal with life as a instrument for God which I found very delightful and thought provoking. I found this interview very grounding in the fact that we sometimes put men such as these on pedestals at times and to hear that they have times when they deal with discouragement and feelings of regret I find very humbling. I am new to the teachings of the Johns, what I have seen, and I may not agree with absolutely everything they say, but I have never before heard a preacher say the things that I believe in before, and say so, so understandably. In other words, their messages may not be absolutely perfect in my eyes, but they are pretty darn close, and closer than I have ever heard before. But, that's in my eyes and I am not perfect either. Praise the Lord! There are many Jesus' in these last days, make sure you are following the Christ found only in the Bible. Test the spirit by reading a portion of the Red Letters everyday, to make sure it lines up with the Words of God.

My point to all this is simply, these are two men that preach a true Gospel, a powerfull gospel, not to tickle the ears of men! Thats what they are called to do! This video talks mostly about the personal lives of Piper and MacArthur so I only listened to 28 minutes. I really wanted to find out more about the Reformed doctrine of unity or remnant theology vs replacement theology, which I believe is more accurate than dispensational separation theology. However, after reading some comments below, particularly Major Jesse Carnes, I do have a question for anyone who may answer: Apparently Calvinistic doctrine says that God does not draw ALLmen to Himself, only those He wants. So, if salvation only comes to men whom God draws unto Himself, then how can a just God punish those who don’t come to Him? And please don't quote me "Because He is God and can do whatever he wants." God has made us in his image and that means we have a sense of justice that comes from Him. Even I, with a smidgeon of God's sense of justice, know that I could not blame anyone for failing to do something that would be impossible for him to do in the first place! Here are just a few biblical quotes from which I do believe God loves justice: Proverbs 21:3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. Psalm 89:14 Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face. Deuteronomy 16:19 (this one includes prohibition on showing justice to only those you want (As Calvin's teaching seems to say that God does): "Do not pervert justice OR SHOW PARTIALITY. Do not accept a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and twists the words of the innocent." Acts 17:31 For he has set a day when he will judge the world with JUSTICE by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead. Dan Brown The simple answer is this. God calls all men everywhere to repent, but they don't and won't. God's grace means that even though everyone hates and rejects Him He still saves some.

God punishes mainly for sin, not for "not coming to Him" So it helps me to just imagine a world in which I've never heard the name Jesus.. I am still accountable for every sin against Him. Therefore our main condemnation is sin, not a lack of seeking God (which is true for everyone anyway) Although it is true that one can come to Christ apart from regeneration, it's also true that their main condemnation is that they have sinned in other ways against a Holy God and need reconciled.

Your question assumes that God isn't just to punish men in hell forever. If God would send all people to hell, it wouldn't contradict his justice and whole being because we are ill-worthy of that punishment and undeserving of any mercy. I don’t understand it all, but you obviously have decreed that as well. And as far as I understand, you have decreed that I will keep sinning and keep confessing, everyday for the rest of my life, even though you ‘want me to be holy’. Then, when I ‘get to Heaven’, you will decree that I never sin again. How glorious is your wisdom, oh God. Who can understand it? Amen.” 10) A Calvinist, praying for lost sinners, before he goes out to preach - “God, I know that you have decreed that most of these people will be damned and that very few will be saved. I’m just thankful that I was unconditionally elected and that you have decreed to use me to bring some of the other elect ones to salvation, irresistibly. Yet, I am not a puppet and you don’t force anyone to be saved.” I actually am glad that most Calvinists are inconsistent enough not to say the above things. The less their doctrine is spread, the better. The less their doctrine is spread, the less people will be turned away from Christianity and become Atheists. If you are a Calvinist, then you need to either become consistent or give up your false doctrine. Why don’t you preach your beliefs on the street? Why don’t you share these things in witnessing encounters? Why don’t you tell little children, babies and the parents of such children/babies, the truth? Why don’t you incorporate your doctrines into your prayers? Is it because you don’t really believe what you say you believe? Is it because you are scared to share them? Is it because you know that they don’t make any sense and that you have no logical defense for them? Is it because you have no Biblical defense for your doctrines? You truly have no excuse. It is not the faith you had 20 years ago that will save you, it is the faith you have at the end. Stop believing the devil’s 1st lie of Gen.3:4 that sinning Christians won’t die.*

Calvinism is simple: God is Sovereign and in Control of all Things, past, present and future. If He were not, a person would only be left with "Is the Devil in control?" or "Is CHANCE and Evolution True?" Obviously, the answer to both queries is an understated single word: HARDLY!! Paul says that Men have NO power to come to Christ INTRINSICALLY. Jesus said that Unless the Father draws you, then you will NEVER be saved [ SEE John chap 6:38-45 ]. He also says in Romans chapter 3 that NO men EVER seek after God. None. Also, if Jesus had died for EVERY person without exception, then why [ALLEGEDLY] does He RENEGE, as High Priest, to INTERCEDE for the Whole World, as found in John 17 . . . QUOTE follows: "I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours. All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them." And finally, does ANYONE deserve to be saved? Romans chapter 3 again. God can Righteously discriminate, for by definition as God, He is UNABLE to Sin. The Omnipotent God of the Universe has NO power to sin. His nature is Holy. So, He hardens whom He wills [ and does so without sinning ] and SAVES whom He will. If Jesus had died for all persons, there would also be NO unpardonable sin. Because If HE had died for ALL sins for all people, then THAT sin would have been imputed to His person on the Cross. If that sin HAD been imputed, then it would not be Unpardonable. Expiation and Propitiation ERADICATES Sin. So if Jesus HAD truly died for all Sins of All people, then He would have told a LIE when He said that Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit were beyond Salvation. But BACK to an earlier statement: again, if NONE deserve Salvation, then what's the issue with Free and Sovereign Grace [commonly called Calvinism]? Read the Book of Romans PRAYERFULLY and ASK the Lord to show you the Truth.

Especially touched to learn about the early years of these men as my husband and I are 30 and 32 respectively, and both needing to hear from older ministers of the Word about the importance of these early years. How is it going with the starting a church? Remember...it is the Lord Jesus who builds His church, not your husband so if he is not a shepherd yet, perhaps in Gods time. Meanwhile, many churches have began by faithful men beginning studies in their living room. Then it progresses to a rented room & then a church. Started somewhere with those you know. One of my favorite online Pastors, Brother Zac Poonen started in his living room and now 50 yrs later has over 200 churches, in which he has Elders over. He teaches true whole counsel of God. He himself nor any of the Elders never took a salary, nor teach tithing as it is Old Testament. His 4 sons are all in ministry. Two have churches in USA while Zac stayed in India. John MacArthur has the form of a shepherd and fears the LORD and the power thereof. To say theology is their god makes no sense coming from a truly regenerated heart. To study theology is to get to know God in order that we may glorify Him through our love and obedience. Understand the progression here. We must get to know Him before we can love Him, and we must love Him before we can desire to obey Him. As a byproduct, our lives are enriched by the comfort and hope He imparts to those who know, love, and obey Him. Poor theology and a superficial, inaccurate understanding of God will only make our lives worse instead of bringing the comfort and hope we long for. Knowing about God is crucially important. We are cruel to ourselves if we try to live in this world without knowing about God. The world is a painful place, and life in it is disappointing and unpleasant. Reject theology and you doom yourself to life with no sense of direction. Without theology, we waste our lives and lose our souls. All true and professing Christians should be consumed with theology, an intense and personal study of GOD in order to know, love, and obey the One with whom we will joyfully spend eternity.

So Paul . . . you believe that Jesus died for ALL of the Sins of ALL people ... Yes? We know that Jesus is the true Christian's High Priest. Priests had 2 basic duties: offer sacrifices , and Intercede [pray] for those for whom they offer sacrifices. IF Jesus died for ALL people's sins, then why would Jesus [ ALLEGEDLY] renege His duty by stating openly that He will NOT pray for the World, but only for those individuals who had been GIVEN to Him [ SEE John 17 ]. If Jesus had died for ALL, then he would Intercede for ALL. He flat refuses to do so, as seen here: 8 For I have given them the words that you gave me, and they have received them and have come to know in truth that I came from you; and they have believed that you sent me. 9 I am praying for them. I am not praying for the world but for those whom you have given me, for they are yours. 10 All mine are yours, and yours are mine, and I am glorified in them. Also, If Jesus died for ALL sins of ALL Men, then Why is there an Unpardonable Sin? PLEASE do not tell me it is Unbelief, because we ALL were in Unbelief before God opened our hearts. If there is an Unpardonable sin, then Jesus did NOT died for that sin, and if He does not die for the Sin, then He cannot die for the Perpetrator, due that ALL of sins must be covered. Lastly, if Jesus [as some people mistakenly claim] did not Impute His Righteousness to sinners, then WHERE will they get their 100% perfect Righteousness? God expects you to be PERFECT in order to be with Him in Heaven. You cannot render what God expects, so, instead, He Credits you with Jesus' own EARNED life of perfection [ SEE Romans chapter 4]. But again, I ask: HOW could Jesus die for ALL men, if He will NOT Intercede for them? DARE we call Jesus darelict? Hardly. IF a Priest will NOT Intercede for them, then He is a Priest who did NOT DIE for them. God have NEVER had a Universal Atonement, even in the Old Testament: When Aaron offered sacrifice on the Day of Atonement, did that grant forgiveness for people in the cities of Ur . . . or Thebes Egypt . . . or towns in Greece? Nope. You had to be within the Covenant Community, which is why Ruth and Rahab the Harlot BOTH became Jewesses. God has always had a CHOSEN people, and why NOT? Does ANYONE deserve to be Saved? No. If anyone deserved to be saved, then it would be PAYMENT OWED to them by God. It would not be Grace. NOW, regarding Once Saved Always Saved . . . this expression is well-meant but is misstated. FIRST, can ANY of us save OURSELVES? Hardly. Do you have the Intrinsic to keep yourself from sinning, much less saved? Paul the Apostle says NO. IF you could keep yourself saved, then you would not Need the Spirit of God. Paul states that sinful men have NO power to come to Christ, inherently on their own power or initiative. NOTE that Lydia in Acts 16 did not turn to Christ, per se. God TURNED her heart TO Himself. It says, verbatum, that "God opened her heart so that she would respond to Paul's message. WHO takes the first step? God. Do YOU as a completely TAINTED and FALLEN sinner have the power to turn to God? Hardly. Romans chapter 3 states that "NO one seeks after God..." and chapter 8 says that "...the heart of the unbeliever does NOT submit to the Law of God ; NEITHER is it ABLE to do so."

Thank God for men like this. shining the light of Biblical truth in a dark world. Most people would ridicule these men. They might exploit their weaknesses or focus on there age. but they are spiritual power houses because they have abandoned all pretense of self righteous , self accomplishing , self will and just self. They Rely on the word of Christ alone which is the scripture. Lord bless these men.

Awesome! I can see their personalities are incredibly different but God uses them to reach specific people. Through Piper, God speaks to me & through MacArthur I know my dad (war vet) would have ears to hear.
