I respect your opinion. However, in the state of Georgia where I reside it is literally impossible to verify the election results by counting the actual number of paper ballots cast to ensure that the number of votes "counted" equals the actual number of votes cast. There is no way to verify that the votes "counted" equals the actual number of votes cast. Regardless of which side won the process is illegitimate because it is literally impossible to verify that the number of votes "counted" equals the actual number of votes cast. I cannot in good conscience participate in a charade.

Excellent video. I find Piper’s premise of “freedom not to vote” misleading and one that sets the bar low to make his case. For instance, given that we have Grace, is it a Christian “freedom” not to go to church? Or not to tithe? Etc. Now, those things are more clearly listed in scripture. However voting was not a 1st century luxury as far as I know. lol Regardless, I think we are called to love our neighbor. Policy affects people and voting affects policy. Therefore voting affects people. And considering the issues of the day (abortion, murder/rape/fentanyl due to illegal immigration, LGBT movement targeting kids, among others) I think a Christian would be hard pressed to avoid injecting their Christian influence into public policy. Is it a “sin” not to vote? I don’t think I can say that anymore than I can say it’s a sin not to go to church. But what “should” we do. This ivory tower theology allows evil to go unchecked.

The difference in this instance is who is responding. Is God glorified when we "enjoy" life, even to the point of us taking the grace extended to us for granted? (Romans 6:1-8) Or does our enjoyment come from glorifying God in everything we do? Jesus often would say something like "I do not take glory for myself, but I give all glory to my Father in Heaven." Christian Hedonism is heretical; it's merely Gnosticism with a different name.

He keeps brnging up abortion. The OT is a little vague on the subject. If a fetus dies from 2 separate people fighting, they paid a fine. Repeat it with me.....a fine. If they start paying an abortion tax, can we all move on to feeding the homeless or something? I'm sure you guys know that OT potion story that might or might not end the pregnancy I'm sure. Numbers 5: 11-31
