All of John's scat singing and playing are fabulous, but the one he does on 'Can't Buy me Love' is out of this world. One of the best I've heard him do. Insuperable!

Pizzarelli consegue solar tanto na guitarra como na voz, simultâneo, sobretudo nos improvisos, isso é fantástico.

I met John when he was a kid, around 1980, at a small music store in Clearwater, Fl owned by Ken Spooner. We had a few laughs but didn't play together. For some reason it sticks in my head that a Tom Waits album was playing and John commented that any place that played T.W. was a place he wanted to be. I always admired his dad so it was a kick that I got to meet John.

excellent, but, a talented pianist, deserves a tuned piano!
@goinxnginx9 жыл бұрын
+pascal jenny Exactly. What a pet peeve of mine and many other musicians who have to take what is given them. One would think that a jazz festival would be more prepared to tune the piano daily if necessary to make the music shine.
@markpettigrew34828 жыл бұрын
+pascal jenny Believe me, that piano sounds great, compared with some of the junkers I've played in my life. That was why I studied piano tuning and technology, hoping to always be able to tune my own pianos and make a living at it. As it turned out, I was a lot better at playing than at tuning.
@genegrossman86458 жыл бұрын
Thank for catching it... I didn't know if I was correct or not, but you verified it for me. That's why Oscar Peterson brought his own tuner with him for the Bösendorfer Model 290 Imperial 97-key piano he traveled with. I would love to have one, but a new one costs around quarter of a million. Gene Grossman

Does John play his dad's 7 string guitar.?
@jerryconnolly20938 жыл бұрын
+Gere Ja his dad is still alive so he is not playing his guitar, John does play a Benedetto 7 string like his father does though if that is what you were asking. Bucky still plays often in public, even though he just turned 90 in Jan.

I would like to see him lost in his vocals. His singing is special. His guitar playing doesn't sound at ease

Now i can understand Jonny ! Music is not your "elément" ! (means it's not in your ADN)!
@0SevenCarPileUp08 жыл бұрын
It's pretty standard for guitar players to "chank" out quarter notes when there is also a bass player and a piano player. John Pizzarelli is one of the finest players I have ever heard.
@jean-lucbersou7588 жыл бұрын
But the art of music is the choice of those notes ! ...and J.Pizzarelli as you could say makes perfect choice !
