This is, quite possibly, my most favorite John Prine song. I LOVE his line, "sittin' all alone on a mountain by a river that has no end". As someone that used to have to travel a lot for work this song always hit me hard. I'd fly out/hit the road on Monday morning and come back on Thursday or Friday to do a day in the home office. I'd always try to take off early on Friday to spend time with my wife & kids. We would always try to make every moment of the weekend count...often times hanging on to every last "tick of the clock" on Sundays. It was that time, spent with the most important people in my life, that would get me through my hectic schedule that started far too early on Mondays. Your comment that "his songs breathe" is SPOT ON. Very well put. GOD BLESS John Prine!

Another good one from John. His lyrics are like sweet poetry. Give a listen also to a great one from k d Lang- Three Days definitely country she performed it at a tribute to Willie Nelson.
