Jason Wilber lost apart of himself when John passed, his guitar playing perfectly complimented John's songs. I saw just the two of them on a number of occasions, he was a show in himself. Great player. Here's another compliment from Jason: “I was 26 when I started playing guitar with John Prine, and I just turned 50 this year. So it’s been my entire adult life,” Wilber says. “At this point, John and his wife Fiona, their boys, the band and crew, they’re all like family to me. I love them all, and I love working with them. When I look at what happens between John and an audience, I can’t deconstruct it for you and explain exactly why it’s so brilliant. But I can tell you that something amazing is happening. There’s something about his music that touches people deeply. It’s a special thing, and it’s been a pleasure and a joy to get to be a part of it for so long.”

I'm a music person, and somehow made it well into my 20s without hearing John Prine. About 10 years ago I went to a show mostly to see the opener, Amos Lee. However it only took that one show for me to become a big John Prine fan, and this is the song that put me over. Get well John, we love you!

He is NOT lost to us. His music lives and lives and lives and lives and lives ... My heart was broken like the hearts of so many fellow Prine admirers, but let us not think for a millisecond that he is “gone.” He is right here, baby.

This is the way I think about the death of person: It is not a loss. It is just an end of momentum. Some folk have a hell of a lot of momentum. Some folk, like me, will be be listening to Prine 'til we die. This man, this music will sail on forever.

This is Dylan's favorite Prine song. I saw John perform in CA opening for Bonnie Raitt and more recently at the Ryman in Nashville and he was beyond the top like a gift from god who he's hanging out with now, bless those lucky heavenly folk.
