Mr Pine has had an enormous effect on me for the last 38 years or so. People who favor his work, myself included, are part of a fading breed. I particularly enjoy meeting a Prine fan for the first time while strumming and having a few. I've had the pleasure of seeing him in a few different states. So remember...if your walking down the street sometime....and spot some hallow ancient eyes, please don't just pass 'em by and stare..... as if you didn't care....just say hello in there.......Hello!

Thank You John Prine, I was given a record of you when I came home from CU-CHI Vietnam in 1970. I thought there was something wrong with me because I was the only one crying to Sam Stone (Thanks for uploading this.)

brad Kennett John Prine's first record, "John Prine" didn't come out until 1971.

I think you're trying to jump the gun on being pedantic there bud. He said he came come in 1970, nowhere in his post did he state that he was listening to it in 1970. Just a thought!

Thank you John...God Bless you. I saw you in the early 80's in New Brunswick, NJ. During one of your songs, the all the lights went out in the theater..for about 60 seconds. When the lights came back on, you said...."Thank God...I thought I was going blind". I nearly fell out of my seat laughing. You're the best, A fan.

I'm sure that Jesus didn't mind a little humor. I don't recall a song where Prine laughed at Jesus, but if he did, I'm sure that Jesus laughed with him. Jesus was all about atonement for the terrible trials of life.

He's still the same ole John to me, I love listening to his songs and stories. Remember he's had to deal with cancer in 1998 and 2013 and that takes it's toll. Looking forward to see him perform in National Concert Hall in Dublin Ireland on Monday August 13 2018(tomorrow).
