In this alternative timeline of John Rambo. He was one of the many HECU soldiers send in to Black Mesa, to cover up the resonance cascade, and eliminate any of the research facility's personnel. While there, Rambo had several encounters with Gordon Freeman, while also nearly dying from an alien barnacle (as seen in the PTSD flashback). After hours of killing aliens, scientists, security guards and black ops. He was one of the lucky few survivors to escape Black Mesa, before it's complete destruction by a thermonuclear bomb. Rambo and several other marines boarded an aircraft, after receiving orders to pull out. However, the nightmare was far from over. As a result of the resonance cascade, it led to the Seven Hour War and the Combine's invasion of the Earth. Rambo was on the front lines, but in the end the human race lost and was force to surrender. In the years since then, he wandered the world alone as a drifter. But now, the spark within him has rose again. Now a member of the Resistance, John Rambo is ready to take on the Combine again. And free Earth from these multi-dimensional aliens, once and for all.

Normally, these missions require more than one man, but Rambo has proven in previous missions that he can do it alone. While he prefers to work alone, he can be a great leader when working with a squad of Rebels.

I think this is a case where there are so many tools available for the game/engine (with this video having leveraged Garry's Mod and Source Film Maker, per the description) that it allows a much deeper level of integration than most games normally do. All the assets being exportable to Blender probably helps. Of course, all that only makes it possible, because leveraging it all also means a ton more effort to pull something this good off.
