John’s pumping house great choice for drone video👍. Built for 2nd hand 70 inch engine 1861. Worked till 1864 Then moved to wheal uny redruth. Wheal ellen in the valley bottom, built for a 70 inch pumping engine that was never installed. Talk of it being converted into a Dwelling, not heard much lately.

Going to try go back most of places I've been before had dronenow with one. It's in a good spot if they do turn it to a housing that what it take to keep the buildings going

Did you know that this particular mine was the first mine in the world to use electric pumps

@@kernow..exp. Yes mate! It was fitted on Taylor’s shaft when they tried reopening the mine, early 1900s I think.🤔

@@captaincornishadventures I like your thought about conversion to a dwelling. If I have found the right information, only 200 of the once 3000 engine houses in Cornwall and West Devon are still standing and if these are to survive, standing for future generations to admire, they have to be converted for a modern use (it is unrealistic to keep repairing uncovered walls indefinitely on more than a few).
