Thank you John. My husband's father is from North Carolina originally even though he ended up in Brooklyn. His family had ties to Stonewall and Robert E Lee. He visited every battlefield of the Civil War. He said Sugar or Sugar gal all the time. At the end of his life he was blind and in a wheelchair, living in West Virginia...they didn't side with the South and that gnawed at him. We came for a visit and as we drove across the border to Virginia he said, " Smell that, Sugar? Even the air is sweeter in Virginia. " My son has a sticker on his truck of the rebel flag, Heritage Not Hate. They had such pride, such chivalry. They stood up for what they believed. And to think how valiantly they fought...I can't stand how people tear them down. It's part of why I wrote my novel Our Hearts are Blind.

Jodee Messina sang the song of Dottie’s in the late 90’s. I sang the zinger around one of the meanest nurses I had ever worked with in a nursing facility. She got the message and I didn’t have much problems with her after that.

Born (1971) and raised in CT. Lived in SC in '84-'85. Came back to SC '91 to present (not counting 2009-2011 in TX). Never was a huge fan of country music, but I gotta say... Not bad, Man. Good on ya.

What is the difference between an American Northerner from that of an American Southerner? .... Without a Uniform? They are ALL Americans. Even Abe Lincoln couldn't tell the difference when he entertained John Mosby on the front porch of the White House. (Grey Ghost.) 60% of the original Settlers of the States of Maryland, Ohio, Indiana and Illinois are ALL from Southern Heritage. And 30% of the Plain States were of Southern Heritage. What side were they on? USA is a Constitutional REPUBLIC.... the Constitution REQUIRES 100% of the States Representatives Participation in the "LAW making PROCESS." And for a BILL to become LAW 63% of that 100% States Representatives participating have to VOTE the SAME WAY. 63% The Fore FATHERS wrote the Constitution for a 63% (2/3rd VOTE) with 100% participating because they KNEW that the Northern States would always HOLD the MAJORITY and that the Southern States would always be the MINORITY. To Give the MINORITY STATES a VOTE, a VOICE in their own GOVERNMENT. But Abraham Lincoln and his Northern RADICAL Republican States Representatives were going by a "Democracy." Where they could have a "Quorum" of States Representatives and they would write a Bill that targeted the Southern States Economy and assets etc. And they would do a MAJORITY VOTE of 51%. And they would declare their Bill LAW. FULLY KNOWING THAT THEY WOULD ALWAYS BE THE MAJORITY. It's UNCONSTITUTIONAL! This DENIED the Southern States Representatives their VOTE, their VOICE IN THEIR OWN GOVERNMENT. And the Northern States Representatives had been doing the "Democracy" MAJORITY VOTE since Andrew Jackson was President. Alexander Stevens and John C. Calhoun acclimated that eventually this would lead to War. Southern States left the Northern States For "STATES RIGHTS" the RIGHT to be heard per the Constitution. And by the USA being a REPUBLIC: The only Branch of the government that can make LAW is the CONGRESS. Because all 100% of the States Representatives are REQUIRED to Participate.. Each State and district get their VOICE by electing their INDIVIDUAL DISTRICTS REPRESENTATIVE. A President can NOT WRITE LAW.... The LAST Person to read and SIGN the BILL is the President ... To give his approval... This way every American has the opportunity to have their VOICE HEARD. And Representatives can be RECALLED....By the people of their district. Abraham Lincoln RAISED AN ARMY AGAINST his own People in a REPUBLIC with A Majority VOTE of a DEMOCRACY QUORUM??? LINCOLN SUSPENDED THE CONSTITUTION! PLACED THE USA UNDER MILITARY RULE and declared MARTIAL LAW... FOR THE ENTIRE USA. It gave the UNION ARMY FULL RAGE OVER THE ENTIRE USA... Raiding the Union Soldiers did to Northerners Farmers for FOOD in 1863 was just ss bad as the Union Soldiers did in the SOUTH... Many of the Union Soldiers NEVER RETURNED HOME. They murdered my great great Father (a minister) on his Farm in Marietta , Ohio. Assaulted my great great grand Mother and left her for dead, and leaving 3 baby girls inside the house. On a 40 acre farm, Stole ever bite of Food .. and anything of VALUE.

I'm your age and have followed your life forever it feels, the 70s was the best along with the 80s, i have watched you on Dukes of Hazzard.. my Aunt grew up next to Tom Wopat in Lodi wisconsin, i went to high school in Madison Wisconsin with Tom's cousin Mark Wopat... great times since we where great Friends during high school.. lost him after we graduated.. best of luck and continue staying healthy and mostly happy, God has chosen his path in life for you.. My Uncle Frank Abel you can look him up on KZbin, he sings a lot of old country, he traveled with Merle haggard for many years as he toured on his bus, i met him once, he knows many celebrities in the Country music world, he tried making it in Nashville but he started out to late for that older country, the newer came in...
