Just after 40:00the conversation that start around 40 min..as Judith Lassiter says, yoga had become a mile wide and an inch deep….thankfully, Iyengar yoga has offered so much more than that.

I have the great privilege of having discovered Unity Woods a few years ago. Working with Mr. Schumacher one feels the influence of Pune (I had the great joy of participating in the first 2-week yoga program with Geeta). That feeling cut through me to my heart and has supported my practice. I especially loved a restorative class given by John where we worked on pranayama which is truly a magical experience. So happy I watched this interview.

John, it is a blessing to experience the similarities between your teaching and how you describe Mr. Iyengar’s. Even if you don’t give a physical swat you do sometimes give a subliminal swat. You mentioned here being less confrontational over Zoom. With the fear of the pandemic slowly dissipating hopefully you are able to be more verbal to us in class without any misgivings. Mychal, thank you for sharing this interview with us. 🙏🏽

That was a pure joy to listen to! Certainly a call and inspiration for "dusting off the cobwebs from one's light" Thank you both so much!

We don’t want to have the conversation about board of standards, and teachers, we have no accountability, no real standards that hold others accountable . I think that we should hold out….5 years is what it takes….and on…people do get hurt by the under-training we allow.
