I am in 100% agreement, man. I have been studying, admiring and enjoying Scofield's playing from the first time i chanced upon a video of him playing. It's almost like i had found the player I have been searching and yearning for. Sounds like Steely Dan with these horn arrangements, and Sco's sound is not too dissimilar to Larry Carlton's with the Dan. Scofield is the man.

Scofield is obviously a master guitarist (people should study his right hand very carefully) but he's not just a guitarist who influences other guitarists -he's an influence on music as a whole - his improvising, his composing, his grasp and combining of multiple genres. Whether he's playing standards or experimenting he's always at the service of musicality. He is a living jazz great - a presence similar to how Wayne Shorter was way more than just a great saxophonist.
