RIP John! Absolute Legend. What a truly fascinating human being with an incredible life. He accomplished a lot and didn’t completely change with time like a lot of people did, he never sold out, him and Abbie both. So glad he got to see cannabis legalization in Michigan. Fly High John. Rest in Power✊

They "wanted to tear everything down". Didn't have any real idea of what to put in it's place though.

I think John, after many years in his life, would agree with your question.

Yes they did. You are forgetting this was 1968. The era of mlk and civil rights. Racism, sexism, Vietnam war. Being gay was illegal. They wanted to undermine Nixon evil administration and commit to social change.

The MC5 was a in your face rock n roll band. Had they stayed away from all the politics the legend would be even larger! John came in after the fact and was a leech

Just watched the movie. Perhaps I saw a bad mastering or file. Perhaps it’s the real thing. They remixed and remastered kick out the jams, using a different vocal track, castrating the rhythm guitar sound, making it sound utterly pedestrian and anodyne. No wonder Kramer was so insistent and demanding of directing the music of the film. They f’ed up their music. Unforgivable when the subject of the documentary is music! As usual Wayne was a righteous man.

My cousin just wrote a book in the MC 5 , I am embarrassed by this fact . These punks were nothing but a second rate garage bank . I saw them in the late 1960's , they stunk then and now.......
