In the CHRS/KRE radio repair shop in Berkeley with John Staples, Tom Bonomo and Sparky the Wonder Dog. They have just fired up a mid-1920s de Forest "Portable" Radio. Listen.

For easy tune need last LC tank with swich in aperiodic mode... and use two hands to tune first stages... and after tuning swich third LC tank to resonante mode and tuned it.

I actually have one of these left to me by my Dad. I would love to see if it still works but can't find any sort of documentation about it. Mainly I was hoping to find out the voltages and currents of the different power connections. My Dad(rip), my son, and I are all electronics techs so all disclaimers of safety and such are obviously understood. Visually, electronically anyway, mine looks to be in good shape. The cabinet has a tolex like covering which has seen a few better days. Is there anywhere I can find any service documents for this? Or maybe at least get some information on the power supply requirements?

Very nice radio! I see 5 tubes. Are they all the same type tube? I don't think I've ever seen a 1920s radio that didn't have globe/balloon shaped tubes!
