Are you sure there weren't military personnel there? Looked more like military than police, if the police want to dress up like the military than they are going to have to buy the equipment with their own money, I as a tax payer refuse to fund such an outfit. I would refuse to let them accept Govt surplus - MRAPS, military uniforms, machine guns, shoulder harnesses, helmets etc, - I don't see the need for them unless they are going to start rounding up civilians and put them in FEMA Camps and separating the sheep from the sheep dogs.

Any person in Boston could have left their homes if they wanted. They did this as only a suggestion to residents in order to maintain safety for the public. Elected county Sheriffs are constitutional. Police Chiefs and Commissioners are appointed law enforcement officials accountable to politicians not to the people. Sheriffs unfortunately often act as if they are above the law. And there is the danger, when those enforcing law feel they are above the law
