This is particularly sad as being a person who was delivered from bisexuality because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, God’s Word, and the power of the Holy Spirit. It is demonic, self-abasing, and disgusting behavior that should not even be tolerated let alone excused.

Thank you for your hard work in pulling together these videos. Sadly, most people don't research the backgrounds of "who" they are reading, listening to, and following. 😥

As an Anglican Stott would have viewed scripture as an authority and not the authority. This is the fatal flaw that would explain his double-listening. We are not to reason or even agree with God's commands, we are to obey.

Well I've listened to some of Stotts sermons recently, they are good and informing, and some of the teaching has been exceptional, but now having listened to this I am not sure that Stott is where I would go for teaching again. The Bible is so clear on its teachings regarding homosexual relationships, why do these 'teachers' attempt to change the Bibles wisdom on this subject, maybe because they are false teachers! In every sinful situation I know I must declare God's grace, for I do not know what sin I would be involved with if it had not been for the sacrifice of Jesus for my sin, from darkness to light by the cleansing of His blood and for the realisation that I am sinner saved by grace. Sin and repentance, to words that a lot of churches do not preach about today and yet they are fundamental to God's relationship with us, if these topics were preached more, then by God's Holy Spirit we would see more and more sinners come to know the truth, not pandering to some focus groups voice, but only to the voice of God can any be saved, and that includes homosexuals. Jesus the way, the truth and the life, by Him and through Him only can we be saved from the judgement that will fall on every unrepentant sinner. Thank you, Lord for the truth of Your word.

Alfred Kinsey cut a swathe across the U.S. in the 1950s and 1960s, holding seminars with State and local politicians and lawmakers about how to change the law. They hung on his every word and implemented all his recommendations

I note that in the most recent edition of Issues Facing Christians Today, Stott no longer quotes or references Kinsey.

Stott was clear that unless you are a married man or woman you should stay chaste.

Thank you so much for this. I was wading through his book, and you have clarified for me the utter confusion I found reading the book. He seems to have completely changed over the years, and unfortunately many people have this man on a very high pedestal...it’s a pity more people don’t read him more with “eyes wide open”...I personally find him shockingly un biblical and have been attacked for saying so. We need to be in the Word of God which is truth...not reading these people who little by little have proved to be more “earthly minded” especially taking into account the sphere of influence he still has...he also believed in Annihilationism...incredible! This is from Wikipedia.... (Annihilationism experienced a resurgence in the 1980s when several prominent theologians including John Stott were prepared to argue that it could be held sincerely as a legitimate interpretation of biblical texts (alternative to the more traditional interpretation of them) by those who give supreme authority to scripture. )

What is presented here twists everything John Stott says, presents a caricature of what he believes, quotes him out of context, and then condemns him. Given that, I was happy to hear the accurate parts where John Stott presents his view. He maintains a biblical sexual ethic, rightly points out that all of us have a fallen sexuality, and calls the church to have the same compassion toward homosexuals as we do for all other sinners.

grace, but Stott was a theological liberal who denied a literal creation, denied a literal hell, and partnered in agreements and dialogue with the antichrist catholic church. Are you sure you actually now the man Stott? Stott also partnered with Billy Graham's false gospel of ecumenism of rome and decisional regeneration.

"Double listening" is really just doubletalk. It always comes down to "Yea, hath God said...?" Derrick Sherwin Bailey's book played a significant role in the legalization of sodomy in the U.K. and its subsequent results.

This is so wrong. John Stott, in his chapter same sex relationships in his book Issues facing Christians today, says, Whatever our inclination, we are to bring every thought captive to Christ and recognise that sexual intercourse is the joyful celebration of the unity between one man and one woman for life. The person who cannot marry and who is living a celebate and chaste life, whatever his or her sexual orientation is living a life pleasing to God. Also, Ed Shaw is a celebate pastor of a church. None of the people mentioned here believes that sex between two men or two women is acceptable to God. Does the author of this talk believe that we should caste out anyone who cannot change their sexual orientation despite their celibacy? Please don’t mislead people.

All is us are born in ‘fallen’, corrupt state ; and each of our natures, weaknesses, and pre-dispositions to ‘this sin or that’, will vary. To stop actively committing the sin is the first step and sign of a true repentance. Then the inward deliverance and transformation can follow. This may take time, as the believer has to undergo a new birth and regeneration . Hearts need to be changed, assisted by the Holy Spirit. If John Stott is clear on this, then people will not be confused. We are on a journey. The more we allow ourselves to be dealt with, the better!

I stopped listening to this tripe at around 6:00. Stott's assessment that we are all sexual sinners in God's eyes is perfectly Biblical, and comes directly from the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:27-28). If the speaker wants us to *seriously* believe he has never had a lustful thought after conversion, he's going to have to ply us with some strong alcohol, because such an assertion is patently absurd. *All* have sinned sexually, because *all* have experienced lust, and have therefore, according to Christ himself, committed adultery, which is sin. Get. over. yourself. Quit. lying. about. your. purity. You. aren't. fooling. anybody. Every time I hear a self righteous Christian who is *so* sure of his/her thinking that Jesus didn't mean what he said about the two great commandments, I think of Revelation 5. The angel is proclaiming "Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?" It's the beginning of the apocalypse, and seals must be opened so that we can get to the New Heaven and the New Earth and God's reign forever. If you're *so* sure that Christ was wrong, that the shema is irrelevant, and that we don't *really* need to love our neighbors as ourselves, then **YOU** open the seals, dearest brother, *what are you waiting for?!*. I would very much like to spend time with my loved ones who are no longer with us, and if you, dearest brother, can speed up that occurrence, it would be much appreciated. 🙂 Way too many Christians enjoy majoring in the minors. It makes us look bad. It's not about you. It's about God's love for us. Understand the difference.
