For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, & the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, & the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.” “Where, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, & the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15:53-57)

A shame God’s people did not believe death had been defeated during the whole Covid debacle. The church was as petrified of death as the world. God have mercy and help us to believe what He has said - death has been defeated. Heb 2:14,15

John's sentiment here is correct, however the theology not technically so. Christ was resurrected in the same body in which He died: there was nothing new about it. Thus the holes were still in His hands. Christ's return will be commensurate with the dissolution of the entire physical realm so that what will remain will be spirit only. When we die our spirit goes to be with the Lord permanently: our bodies will never exist again: we shall be spirits in the afterlife, which is what we are now, only we are veiled with a physical body at present.

@@EricBaxter-f2k It is the other way around. You need to spend a lot more time reading your New Testament.

Jesus probably never existed. Who saw him AND wrote about him ? OR was merely around at the time and wrote about him. We are talking about a guy that supposedly raised Lazarus from the grave.
