Christ be with you St John tells us is that any Gospel that does not have the doctrine of Christ does not Have God and Is evil (2 John 9-11) St Paul tells us we mock God if we believe we have eternal life but do not live according to this Doctrine. (Gal 6:2-9) St John had identified this doctrine loving one another (2 John 5) St Paul tells us this doctrine is the accumulation of all the commandments (Rom 13:8-10) The Gospel, that seems hidden to most, is that Jesus Christ though his love and mercy will save those who love him. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. (John 14:21) Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me. (John 14:23-24) In this love we form the supernatural union with God required for our salvation. Faith alone simply does not cut it (1 Cor 13:2) God Bless you bless you

Love this! For me, one of the biggest issues is our understanding of the Gospel. When I left being a paramedic to be in ministry, I didn’t realize how many people misunderstand how the Bible applies to our lives! That’s why I have centered my channel on helping people understand the Bible in a practical, relevant way that keeps the true Gospel at the heart of every teaching.

Part 1...... The Gospel accounts are very clear about the focus of Christ’s message. Yet the gospel of the Kingdom of God is nearly absent from Christianity today. By Erik Jones The myriad of churches that make up Christianity profess that their religion is based on Jesus Christ. Nearly all claim Him as their founder and say that their teachings are based on what He said and did 2,000 years ago. But, sadly, there are many doctrines where mainstream Christianity ignores or actually rejects the teachings of Jesus Christ. This month’s column makes a bold assertion: Mainstream Christianity does not teach the same message that Jesus Christ brought when He walked the earth 2,000 years ago. Jesus had a central message that formed the basis for His entire ministry and teachings. He pinpointed this central message in the heart of His most famous sermon-the Sermon on the Mount. He made a statement about what should be the highest priority for His followers: “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you” (Matthew 6:33, emphasis added). Jesus Christ’s words are clear-the Kingdom of God is to be the No. 1 focus and emphasis in the lives of His followers. In fact, it was the core of His gospel message. Christ’s gospel was not just about Himself Gospel is a common word in the Christian world. Some think of it in connection with a genre of religious music, but most understand that it describes a message. It literally means a message of good news. Most churches include the word gospel in their mission statements. Typically, the gospel is described as the gospel of Jesus Christ, and it is seen as the message of His life, death and resurrection. (You can see this by doing a Google search of the mission statements of different denominations of Christianity.) But was this the central message that Jesus actually taught? Was His message only about Himself? A study of the Gospel accounts of Christ’s life pinpoints exactly what His message-His gospel-was all about! Notice Mark 1:14: “Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God.” That statement is pretty plain-Jesus preached the gospel about the Kingdom of God! There are many scriptures that reinforce this fact. For example, Matthew 9:35 says, “Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom.” At one point in His ministry, Jesus was about to leave an area where He had been preaching for some time. The people of that area tried to persuade Him not to go ( Now when it was day, He departed and went into a deserted place. And the crowd sought Him and came to Him, and tried to keep Him from leaving them; Luke 4:42). Jesus’ response was, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent” (verse 43). Let that sink in. Jesus Christ said that one of His primary purposes for coming to earth was to preach about the Kingdom of God! That was His gospel. That was His message. That was His purpose. That is what drove Him. When we understand that the thrust of Christ’s message centered on the Kingdom of God, we understand better why He made the statement in Matthew 6:33: “Seek first the kingdom of God.” He tells us to seek first the Kingdom because the Kingdom of God was His primary message. This message is about the literal establishment of the Kingdom of God on earth at the second coming of Jesus Christ. See our infographic on page 29 to learn more details about what the Kingdom of God is. But where is that message in mainstream Christianity today? Part 2..... Jesus Christ’s words are clear-the Kingdom of God is to be the No. 1 focus and emphasis in the lives of His followers. In fact, it was the core of His gospel message. Christianity lost Christ’s message After Christ was resurrected and ascended to heaven, He founded a Church. The purpose of that Church-that called-out group of people-was to carry on the work He did while on earth. Christ commissioned His Church to go into the entire world and preach the same message that He preached while He was on earth (Matthew 24:14; 28:19-20; Mark 16:15; Acts 1:3-8). The Bible shows that the early Church faithfully followed Christ’s directive and preached the gospel of the Kingdom of God (Acts 8:12; 14:22; 19:8; 20:25; 28:23, 31). The members of the early Church also put their focus on the coming Kingdom (Colossians 4:11; 2 Thessalonians 1:5). But as the first century progressed, the intense focus on the Kingdom began to wane as false beliefs began to creep into Christianity. The apostle Paul wrote that he perceived Christians in his time were “turning away” from the true gospel to “a different gospel” (Galatians 1:6). In what was likely his final letter, Paul gave multiple warnings about his fear that people were abandoning true doctrines and being led astray into false teachings (2 Timothy 2:14-18; 3:13-14; 4:1-3, 14-15). Other apostles wrote similar warnings (2 Peter 2:1; 2 John 1:7; Jude 1:4). The understanding of the true gospel and the focus on the Kingdom of God were minimized and lost over the centuries after the end of the New Testament era. A key factor in this was Emperor Constantine’s acceptance of a popular form of Christianity and its subsequent adoption as the official religion of the Roman Empire. Historian Justo Gonzalez writes: “Since the time of Constantine, and due in part to the work of Eusebius and of many others of similar theological orientation, there was a tendency to set aside or to postpone the hope of the early church, that its Lord would return in the clouds to establish a Kingdom of peace and justice. … Eusebius, although more articulate than most, was simply expressing the common feeling among Christians, for whom the advent of Constantine and of the peace he brought about was the final triumph of Christianity over its enemies” (The Story of Christianity, Vol. 1, pp. 134-135). This idea was also promoted by the theologian Augustine of Hippo in his highly influential book The City of God: “Therefore the Church even now is the kingdom of Christ, and the kingdom of heaven” (Book XX, Chapter 9). This belief became known as amillenialism and is a dominant belief (in different forms) in mainstream Christianity today. After the true biblical teaching of the Kingdom of God was removed, the gospel message was changed from the message about the Kingdom to a message primarily about Jesus Christ. In other words, Christianity kept the name of Jesus Christ, but abandoned His message. Jesus was very clear that professing His name but ignoring His teachings is false worship (Luke 6:46). Preaching the true gospel today The true gospel is not a minor issue. As we have already read, Jesus connected a belief in the true gospel to repentance (Mark 1:15), and the apostle Paul warned that preaching a different gospel brings a curse (Galatians 1:8-9). Believing the true gospel is vital to your salvation! The true gospel is the message of good news about the coming Kingdom of God. It is a message of hope-for this entire world and for you and your family. It is the message that God is building a family that will soon rule the entire earth, bringing peace and happiness. The established Christian churches have lost that true gospel message. I disagree with the kingdom being for later.......IT IS AVAILABLE NOW... Scripture clearly states that Jesus came announcing the kingdom at the inception of His ministry(it is at hand, now right here, He brought it with Him.... With Love, William Allen

Brilliant! Six elements of the gospels: • The gospel is a plan from eternity. Something happened before (1Cor 15.3). • The gospel is an event in history. Christ died. • The gospel is an achievement in that event. Something happened between Father and Son. • The gospel is a free extended offer to the world. It's free and by faith (no work needed). • The gospel is an application of the achievement. By faith the believer is forgiven and justified. • The gospel brings us to God. God is the end (1Pet 3.18).

Unfortunately, the gospel that does not contain the need for 1. Repentance from dead works.. Hebrews 6:1 2. Regeneration of your Spirit.. Titus 3:5-7 3. Renewal of your mind Romans 12:1-2 4. Reconciliation of the World back to God.. 2 Corinthians 5:13-19 Is not the gospel, this only talks about a fraction, and places no onus on us to change, to do better.. everything has been done for us? This is unbelievable! I’ve been “trying” to be a Christian for well over a decade now and I never truly understood what it meant to be a Christian! Being a Christian is easy and yet hard at the same time! Do you see how I said I was “trying” to be a Christian and yet I’ve failed every day. I was trying to save myself and not rely on Jesus’ gift. I, obviously knew the gospel before, but I didn’t believe (truly believe). As a Christian, I believe that no one is or ever was worthy of God until Jesus Christ came and gave Himself up as an offering for our sins! You have to believe that Jesus is who He says He is, and He died for OUR sins in order to be saved! Our “good” works are likely filthy rags before the Almighty. Believe in Jesus and repent! If you truly believe in Jesus in your heart, He will not stop the good work that He began in you! It’s crazy to me that being almost 30years old, I’m just now beginning to understand! I can confidently say that I’m a Christian now because I believe what Jesus has done for me and I believe my salvation is not dependent on my “good deeds”. I’m saved by faith (belief in Jesus). Before recently, if anyone asked me if I was a Christian, I’d say “I’m trying to be”, or “I’m a bad Christian”

Hi! No, I don’t believe that a true Christ follower will continue living in sin. I believe that a Christian will want to make changes, but not feeling guilty if they mess up. If you read the Bible daily, you’ll be convinced if there’s something that you do that hurts other people or yourself! I remember when I was younger, I was reading Bible daily and praying, unfortunately( I became self righteous and judgmental which is not what Jesus taught.
@PatrickSteil3 жыл бұрын
@@regulardude2011 So does this mean that person was not saved by "Faith Alone"? It seems to me that this idea of "faith alone" discounts the importance of the life-long relationship we will have with Jesus when truly converted. And that that entire relationship from the moment we put our trust in Jesus to the daily re-trusting him is what saves us. For example, to evaluate a "healthy" marriage, wouldn't we evaluate the "works" that both parties put into the marriage (the sacrifice, suffering, energy, trust, obedience, care, cooperation, etc)? We wouldn't say its healthy JUST because both people agreed to put their trust in the marriage - but then are not "good" to each other through the "work" they put into the marriage, right?

I heard about the good news (The Gospel) many, many times over and over when I was young; never understood it until I understood the the bad new: the death and wrath that I deserved, and the direction of hell I was heading, because I'm guilty of violating the law of a Holy God, and some day all will be judged for who they are. The direction I was going was evil. Thank God for His grace and mercy through our Lord Jesus Christ. Colossians 2:13-14: And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. (Colossians 2:13-14)

I am a great admirer of John Piper, but I have been studying the Scriptures of Jesus's life. His message to the lost had little about himself,but mostly about His Father. His message was about how to live as God fearing people, I believe Jesus shared the gospel message. Yes the death, burial, and resurrection give us proof of whom Jesus is. His sacrifice for us is beyond compare. Jesus taught us how to live as God honoring people.

Dear Gordon are you saying you can be as holy as Jesus? I doubt it, all have sinned and fall short of glory of God. Bible is very clear on why Jesus was born. Jesus came to this world to die for our sins for the wages of sins is death. Jesus came death by his resurrection. All who believe on him will have eternal life regardless of their sins because Jesus already paid for all sins. The problem is that 99% of people don't believe in true gospel. Jesus didn't come to show us how to live Jesus came to pay for our sins, I repeat Jesus came to pay for our sins. All those who believe in his mission and his love for the world will be saved, born again, justified and will inherit the kingdom of God. Don't be fooled by satan in thinking you have to add to perfect LAMB OF GOD. 1 Cor. 15 1-4 is the gospel. blessings

ed _____ Jesus cane to pay for our sin and show us how to live. We are to be followers of Christ which the Bible is to tell us who we are and how we are supposed to live. We are bad God is good so stop behaving in the manner that we do. That’s why Jesus came because just by law alone we cannot be saved. Jesus died to save us. He shows us by his life to have a relationship with the Father.

@SwordOfTheLord, OSAS was preached by JESUS himself according to KJV Bible. John 11 25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? Notice carefully that JESUS is not asking Martha if she believed in HIM. But rather HE is asking her is she belived in OSAS or ETERNAL SECURITY = SHALL NEVER DIE. Martha's affirmave: YES! She believed in ETERNAL SECURITY and knew this to be true or herself. In order for one to know they are saved they must believe in the BIBLICAL CHRIST. (1 John 5:20) and must believe in what JESUS clearly promises - ETERNAL LIFE. Saying like you just did that you believe doesn't do it ONLY true faith which people DON'T SEE but GOD does see it. Heb. 11:1 1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Of course that over 99% people are going to hell because once the person is saved (born again of God's Spirit) the person knows it and if you go to church and ask anyone if they thing they would go to heaven if they die that day 99.99% would say that they don't know for sure or they are going to purgatory or anything else but what true believer would say.

I love all of this and it is very true. I think it might be better if we would emphasize more the words that God put in His Holy Word, the bible. The gospel is good news. The good news is that i've been redeemed. Jesus purchased me with His blood for God (Rev. 5). I've been freed from the shackles of sin. From slavery to sin. And i've been given the Righteousness of Christ. A righteousness that is not my own. I've crossed over from death to life! These are some of the descriptors of the gospel in the bible. And indeed there is no better news then that God has given me eternal life.

The Gospel is the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. That is the Gospel! And, for us to be saved we must replicate the Gospel, that is the purpose for it. We must die to our sins in repentance, be buried in baptism and be resurrected through the infilling of the Holy Ghost.

We must add that Repentance is a major part of our being "Born Again", walking in newness of life, and that faith without works is dead. The Great Commission includes "teaching them to OBEY all the commandments I have given you." "Why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and do not what I say?" "Go and sin no more". See also [1 John 2:4, 1 John 5:3, John 14:15, Luke 6:46, 1John 3:4, John 8:11, Matt 5:48, Matt 22:36-38, Mark 12:28-30, Luke 10:25-27, 2 Peter 3:16-17, Rev 12:17, Rev 14:12] and there are many more examples.

Awesome passion and statement of the gospel from Pr Piper, however, there is one more element. With the Gospel message we all understand that God offers grace/forgiveness to sinners AND God also offers the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. It is through the Spirit that we are changed. So Grace is forgiveness and Power. Not our own power but by Gods power/Spirit working in us . 1 Corinthians 15:10. That is the Good news. Not by our own might but by Gods Spirit Zechariah 4:6. "not by might not by power, but by My Spirit says the Lord"

Just in case this wasn’t clear, having an intellectual belief in the gospel will not save you, only putting our faith in Christ will. For more on this watch our KZbin teaching called: “Believing the Gospel doesn’t save you, only faith in Christ can”.
@TheBibleSays4 жыл бұрын
"Only putting our faith in Christ will save"??? Only God's *_grace_* will save us: ⚫ "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" (Eph 2:8). *_Through_* faith that God exists, rewards and saves we see that we must "come to God" on His terms. Without faith we would not "see" the choice and could never choose to "come to God": ⚫ "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." (Hebrews 11:6) It is the decision - to "come to God" on His terms - that pleases God, and for which we receive His promised mercy and grace: ⚫ "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent" (Acts 17:30) ⚫ "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." (Proverbs 28:13) If we'll come to God in repentance, our past sins will be blotted out, and we'll have redemption from the death penalty we had earned: ⚫ "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19, NKJV). With the sins that separated us from God erased, they no longer separate us from God (re Isaiah 59:1,2). Now we can enter "the presence of the Lord." How? By the gift of the holy spirit . . . given "to them that obey Him" and "repent": ⚫ "And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him." (Acts 5:32) ⚫ "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2:38) Outside of repentance, we remain outside His mercy and grace and we will perish, paying our own death penalty: ⚫ "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Jesus, in Luke 13:5) Peter makes it clear: come to repentance, or else perish: ⚫ "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9) That's why Jesus told His disciples to preach "repentance and remission of sins" -not "faith alone": ⚫ "Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that *repentance and remission of sins* should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem." (Luke 24:45-47) ▬▬▬▬ And what did we hear from John Piper about repentance/repenting? N̲ O̲ T̲ H̲ I̲ N̲ G̲ ▬▬▬▬

People error because they are not equipped with the one thing that God say we must have , FAITH . People think that when Jesus came through the flesh ; died and was resurrected ; appeared before the Father for our sins ; that the forgiveness for sin started at that point ; but they are 100 % wrong . Question , Did Abraham , Isaac , Jacob , David , etc ....... live and die before Jesus Christ came in the flesh ? If the answer is yes , how were they justified from sin ? These men wll be in the kingdom of God . The apostle Paul stated in Romans 3:23 , " For all have sinned , and come short of the glory of God " ; So how can anyone before Jesus resurrection and appearing before the Father for our sins be justified ? In Romans 6:23 , " For the wages of sin is death ; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord " . Jesus is the atonement for our sins , but most people do not realize , that this represents TWO TYPE OF SINS ; the sin of the first death that Adam put ALL of us under , the grave ; which is the free gift , nothing is required , even if you do not believe in Jesus . By sinning against the laws of God , Adam condemned the entire creation back to the dust of the ground ; for all have sinned and come shot of the glory of God . By living a righteous life , unblemlish without sin , Jesus was not worthy to die as we are ; so he died not for himself , but for ALL who have transgressed the laws of the Father ; which is given to ALL who have ever lived ; that how he defeated death , by overcoming sin . By defeating sin ; which brings on death , now ALL will be resurrected from their first tabernacle ( body ) , and live forever in their second tabernacle ( body ) ; but can we dwell with the Father , if we die in our first tabernacle in sin ? 1 John 1:5-7 , " This then is the message which we have heard of him , and declare unto you , that God is light , and in him is no darkness at all . If we say that we have fellowship with him , and walk in darkness , we lie , and do not the truth : But if we walk in the light , we have fellowship one with another , and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from ALL SINS " . The free gift redeems you from the sins of the first death , the grave , but to dwell with the Father in his kingdom , something else is required . This is what Jesus Christ said , as he started his ministry in Mark 1:14-15 , " Now after that John was put in prison , Jesus came preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God , And saying , The time is fulfilled , and the kingdom of God is at hand :REPENT YE , AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL " . The God of Israel has always required that you repent of your sins with a sorrowful heart ( like king David did in Psalm 32 & 51 ) ; and believe by obedience ; which means to start keeping his laws/commandments/instructions ; which includes all covenants ; that's how you have faith with him , by obedience . The gospel that Jesus taught are the same words that Moses & the prophets gave in the scriptures ( Hebrews 1:1-3 ) ; the words of the Father . Remember what Moses said to the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 18:15-19 , " The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee , of thy brethren , like unto me ; unto him ye shall hearken ; ACCORDING TO ALL THAT THOU DESIREDST OF THE LORD THY GOD IN HOREB IN THE DAY OF THE ASSEMBLY , SAYING , LET ME NOT HEAR AGAIN THE VOICE OF THE LORD MY GOD , NEITHER LET ME SEE THIS GREAT FIRE ANYMORE , THAT I DIE NOT . And the LORD said unto me , They have well spoken thatwhich they have spoken . I WILL RAISE THEM UP A PROPHET FROM AMONG THEIR BRETHREN , LIKE UNTO THEE , AND WILL PUT MY WORDS IN HIS MOUTH ; AND HE SHALL SPEAK UNTO THEM ALL THAT I SHALL COMMAND HIM . AND IT SHALL COME TO PASS , THAT WHOSOEVER WILL NOT HEARKEN UNTO MY WORDS WHICH HE SHALL SPEAK IN MY NAME , I WILL REQUIRE IT OF HIM " . Question , What did the children of Israel desire at Horeb or mount Sinai ? Answer , the ten commandments that the God of Israel spoke to them ; and all of the other statutes and judgemets ; which includes the covenants , that they were afraid to hear from God , but would hear through Moses . Jesus Christ himself said that he came not to do his own will , but the will of the one who sent him . In John 12:44-50 , Jesus said that if you do not believe the words that he speak unto you , the same words will judge you on the last day ; which is the white throne judgement ; because he speak the words of the Father . The second sin that the blood of Jesus cleaneth you from requires repentance and faith ; which means to believe by obedience ; this redeems you from the second death ; which is the lake of fire . By redeeming you fromthe first death of the grave with the free gift , now your tabernacle , or body from heaven ( 1 Corinthians 15:35-38,42-51 ) is in danger of the lake of fire ; because you cannot dwell with the Father in darkness ( sin ) . Before the children of Israel were given the law of animal sacrifice for the first tabernacle or body , the God of Israel required all men to live by faith ( repenting of their sins with a sorrowful heart ( mind ) and start walking in the light ) ; Why does Proverbs24:16 say this : Proverbs 24:16 , " For a just man falleth seven times , and riseth up again : but the wicked shall fall into mischief " ? Answer , if a just man falleth seven times , then he is redeemed seven times by repenting and believing like king David ; remember this was long before Jesus came in the flesh . For the atonement of sin , it requires a sacrifice ; a sacrifice through a priesthood . What priesthood was around at the time of Abraham ? Answer , The priesthood of Melchisedec . How was Melchisedec identified in Hebrews 7 ? ( King of Righteousness , King of Salem , King of peace , without father , without mother , without descent , having neither beginning of days , nor end of life ; but made like unto the Son of God ; abideth a priest continually ) . Now , who does this look like ? ( Psalm 110:4 , Micah 5:1-2 , Luke 1:26-33 , Romans 10:4 , Romans 1:1-4 ) . Remember the Word created the heavens and the earth , and all things that is ; and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us . What did Jesus say in John 5:37 ? ( John 5:37 , " And the Father himself , which hath sent me , hath borne witness of me . Ye have neither heard his voice at any time , nor seen his shape " ) ; which means that the one most call Yahweh , or Jehovah , or I AM , or God Almighty , or The God of Abraham , Isaac , and Jacob , and Melchisedec ; is none other then the one who came in the Father's name in John 5:43 . The one we call Jesus Christ created us , and has been interceding for us as high priest from the beginning of the creation ( Melchisedec at the time of Abraham ) , until it is completed ( Jesus Christ now ) ; which is the white throne judgement . The apostle Paul explains this ( Romans 5:13-14 , " For until the law sin was in the world : but sin is not imputed when there is no law . Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses , even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression , who is the figure of him that was to come " ) . What is sin ? Answer , the transgression of the law of God ( 1 John3:4 ) . Paul stated that until the law ( what law ? ) , sin ; which is the transgression of the law of God was in the world , but sin ; which is the transgression of the law of God is not imputed ( represents something undersirable as been done , caused , or possesed by someone ) when there is no law . This law is not the commandments/instructions of God ; which includes all the covenants , but a sin sacrifice law that came at the time of Moses ; the law of animal sacrifice of works ; which was not of faith ( Romans 3:27-28 ) . Once you fell under this law , which was written in the book of the law of the priesthood , under the mediator Moses ( Leviticus ) ; it had to be carried out , just as it is written ; no grace or mercy . When the children of Israel went into a covenant with the Father in the wilderness , all their sins were forgiven ; the only thing that they waited on was the promise to redeem ALL MEN from the sins of the first death , the grave . When the children of Israel begin to break the laws of the Father and not repent by faith ; he gave to them , through their mediator Moses , the law of animal sacrifice for the body , of the earthly tabernacle ; to keep from killing their flesh , hoping that their would rethink themselves and repent by faith , before they die ; or they would die in their sins . Shalom !

All this is good and true, but I like to define the gospel as the remedy for sin. Why ? Because what is man’s chief problem, sin. What is the sole solution or remedy for sin ? The gospel. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ is the remedy that man needs, it is all we need to tell a man, because from it every good gift comes.

*THE GOSPEL* : Romans 10:9 (KJV) 9 That if thou shalt *confess* with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt *believe* in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) 8 For by *grace* are ye saved through *faith* ; and that not of yourselves: it is the *gift* of God: 9 *Not of works* , lest any man should boast. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJV) 15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: John 3:16 (KJV) 16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever *believeth in him* should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jesus said: Luke 5:32 (KJV) 32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Acts 11:18 (KJV) 18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath *God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life* . Repentance (For salvation/Justification), what does that actually mean? Activity of reviewing one's actions and feeling contrition or regret for past wrongs. Turn back towards God, understand and admit that you are lost and a sinner in need of a saviour and truly want to change your mind/lifestyle) Resolve in your heart to life for God and not against him anymore. Be sorry for what you are. Putting your complete *trust/faith* in *Jesus Christ* His hands. Let the whole world know you are His, and not be ashamed that He is your God and Saviour. *Keep in mind however* : By grace you are saved through faith. Not of our own doing can we be saved! Salvation is *without works* of our own. *DO NOT* think that repentance for salvation is something you can work your way through by e.g. doing good deeds. *That form of repentance is Heresy* . That would defeat the purpose of Jesus dying on the cross. Believe and trust in His grace by faith and He will forgive you of *all* your sins committed. Past, present, future. Thank you for reading this. May you be risen with Christ and seek those things that are above , where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Amen.

But also, the word believe in the Bible means more than an agreement in your mind of something to be true. I don’t believe works can get you to heaven but does the Bible not call us to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith? What then do we do if we are lacking in one of those areas - aside from prayer - does in not require any action on our part? I just don’t see mentally believing and then living however you want - aren’t we called to deny ourself - does that not require action?? I believe that Jesus made the way and that heaven would never be possible w/o what He did on the cross but I just feel like it’s deceiving to say that nothing is required of us - am I wrong ? Q: What does it mean to “believe” in Christ? A: The word “believe” in the Bible means more than simply agreeing in our minds that something might be true. It means “trust”-that we believe so strongly in God that we are willing to commit our lives to Him and live the way we know He wants us to live. Suppose you were walking along a path and you came to a bridge which crossed a deep canyon. You might look at it and believe that it would hold you, and you might even see other people walking across it so you know it would hold your weight. But so far, your “belief” in the bridge is only in your head. When do you really believe the bridge will hold you? You only really believe it when you are willing to commit your life to it and actually walk across it. It is the same way with Christ. Yes, we can believe that God exists, but God wants us to come to know Him personally. And He has bridged the gap between us by sending His Son to remove the barrier of sin and become that “bridge.” To believe in Christ is to commit our lives by faith to Christ-to trust Him personally as our Lord and Savior. Our prayer is that you will come to truly believe in Christ.

Christ be with you you seem to be calling St John and St Paul heritics not to mention Jesus . Those are not the Gospel I Cor 15:1-4 tells us specifically that ist is the first part of the Gospel St Paul previously taught. we know this because it would contradict Jesus From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. Then Peter took him, and began to rebuke him, saying, Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.(matt 16:21-27) Happy to discuss your other proof texts with you also if you would like to know there meaning. St John tells us is that any Gospel that does not have the doctrine of Christ does not Have God and Is evil (2 John 9-11) St Paul tells us we mock God if we believe we have eternal life but do not live according to this Doctrine. Faith alone simply does not cut it (1 Cor 13:2) God Bless you

The gospel is that we can be redeemed (by grace) from the death penalty we have each earned for our past sins. This redemption was made available when Jesus gave His life as a ransom for us, making a payment of our death penalty available for us. Redemption is granted IF we'll come to God and repent, turning from separation from God, turning from sin that earned us the death penalty in the first place. Grace continues: if we'll abide in Him, Jesus will lead us out of slavery to sin. At Jesus' return God will resurrect us and save us from ever perishing in death by granting us the gift of eternal life. Then we'll inherit the Kingdom of God. That's the gospel of grace. You will not find a better opportunty, and YOU could be there, a member of the Father's eternal family. But without repentance we will surely perish, unredeemed, as the penalty for our sins. That's why Jesus warned, "except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." That's why Jesus told His disciples to preach "repentance and remission of sins" (Luke 24:45-47) . . . not "faith alone" or "just trust Jesus" or "name it and claim it." After humanity comes to the end of its rope, reaping the fruits of its choice to live apart from God, Jesus will return. When Jesus returns He and His elect will rule the Kingdom of God right here on earth, teaching all mankind God's way: the path to peace and love. It was for this that Jesus prayed "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven." That's the gospel of the Kingdom of God. some scriptures: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (the apostle Paul, in Romans 6:23). "Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many" (Jesus, in Matthew 20:28). "John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins" (Mark 1:4). "And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem" (Jesus, in Luke 24:47). "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent" (Paul, in Acts 17:30). "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy" (Proverbs 28:13; mercy: in forgiveness and redemption). "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). "Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish" (Jesus, in Luke 13:4,5). "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" (Paul, in Ephesians 2:8. We can be redeemed - saved from our death penalty for past sins - by grace. The grace is received _through_ faith, not just because we _have_ faith. It is _through_ faith that we can make the critical choice, to _come to God_ in repentance): "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him" (Hebrews 11:6). "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent" (Jesus, in Revelation 3:19. Jesus' work is not finished: right now He is creating sons and daughters for the Father's eternal family. He is the potter, we are the clay . . . if we continue in repentance, willing to change as He leads us.) The relationship with Him "yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby" (Hebrews 12:11). --------- "And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him" (Luke 8:1). "And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever" (Daniel 2:44). "And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more" (Isaiah 2:4). "And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed" (Daniel 7:14). "They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea." "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years" (Revelation 20:6. The first resurrection is at Jesus' return; they are resurrected with eternal life, just as Jesus was). "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom" (Jesus, in Luke 12:32). "Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world" (Jesus, in Matthew 25:34). "For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be. But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace" (David, in Psalms 37:10,11). "Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth" (Jesus, in Matthew 5:5).

The SIN is Adamic sin passed on to us.This is why humans die b/c the wages for sin is death."I have come that you may have LIFE" .Even if we don't practice sin,we still die don't we?So the sin is a much bigger meaning than the sins of individuals which reflect our condition in which we were born.

The first time Jesus uses the word good news Eunagelion, he is talking about the advent of the Kingdom of God, i.e. the reign of God on earth as it is in heaven. The first time the good news is preached by a follower of Jesus is by Peter in acts 2 and there the good news is that God has made Jesus Lord of the world because he defeated sin and death. Therefore, the heart of the gospel message, the good news of the good news, is that Jesus is King.

The gospel is qualifying to reign an rule with Christ in the millennium through sanctification.
@johnhoffman8203 Жыл бұрын
@Norman Fisk That's a short list, zero. Baptism is the first step in sanctification, not the last step in justification. Acts 20.32/26.18 declares the inheritance through sanctification. You want to qualify for the Millennial Kingdom? Get baptised.
@johnhoffman8203 Жыл бұрын
@Texas Blues What you describe here is being counted as worthy to enter the kingdom of heaven/God through sanctification/chosen/works/inheritance/soul salvation and this is true. Justification/calling/gift/rebirth/OSAS is Eph 2.8/9 that we are given when God calls us for the remission of sin and no confession is needed. Life is defined as ruling with Christ in a glorified body during the 1K years Millennium, received at the JSOC which only Christians attend. We all get glorified, its a matter of when, either at the JSOC or the end of the Millennium per 1 Cor 15.51/52.

The Gospel is actually quite plain, simple and easy for to all to understand using the BIBLE. “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” - Romans 10:9 . To further qualify, plainly and simply using the BIBLE and no subjective thoughts …”This is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and the one you have sent - Jesus Christ.” John 17:3 That is the good news!

What is he saying at 1:43? “Now by faith I am forgiven” - it sounds to me like until you trust Him, you aren’t forgiven. But I thought that Paul tells us in Romans that Jesus has brought justification for life to all, just as Adam brought death for all. And there are two ways I picture this, one by the fact that the prison doors have been unlocked and one can walk out of there BY FAITH, in other words, their death sentence has been commuted, they are now free to go. And the other illustration is the abolishment of slavery: the document was signed and the slaves were free to leave.

Something is missing ??? Yes you missed the most important part Jesus RESURRECTION he overcame death. For the wages of sin is death. Gospel is 1 Cor. 15 1-4 please stop adding your own imaginary things to it. GOSPEL doesn't need your help. All we have to do is to believe on finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross and his resurrection. Jesus is the only way. blessings

If the wages of sin is death, and Jesus was sinless, why did he die? He actually gave up his right to everlasting life on earth by the right of his being perfect, to pay off the penalty for Adam's sin. Thereby releasing all Adam's children from the inherited imperfection leading to death (John 3;16). Romans 5:12 ' That is why, just as through one man (Adam) sin entered into the world and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because they had all sinned.' (This sin is inherited Adamic sin. Because babies who die don't sin in that they fall short of God's standards). Verse 18 ' So, then, as through one trespass the result to men of all sorts was condemnation, so too through one act of justification the result to men of all sorts is their being declared righteous for life.' One is right on the score that Jesus' resurrection was very important.

Christ be with you Those are not the Gospel I Cor 15:1-4 tells us specifically that ist is the first part of the Gospel St Paul previously taught. we know this because it would contradict Jesus From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the third day. For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.(matt 16:21-27) St John tells us is that any Gospel that does not have the doctrine of Christ does not Have God and Is evil (2 John 9-11) St Paul tells us we mock God if we believe we have eternal life but do not live according to this Doctrine. @@MrKev1664 Where do you see “specifically” that l Corinthians 15:1-4 is just the first part of the Gospel? I see “specifically” that Paul’s Gospel of the Grace of God starts and finishes in l Corinthians 15:1-4. You say that if it’s not just the first part of the Gospel, then it would contradict Lord Jesus. Not if you know how to “rightly divide the word of truth” (ll Timothy 2:15). Looks like you just want to justify adding works like law-keeping to the Gospel of Grace. Anything written in the Bible found outside of Paul’s epistles, wouldn’t come from Jesus Christ’s position of His crucifixion used for salvation. After all, that is the reason why Jesus allowed His crucifixion; for salvation of the the world. But no writer of the Bible or man of prophecy knew the purpose of the finished work of the Cross until Paul came along with the knowledge from the Lord of the revelation of “the mystery of Christ “ (Ephesians 3:1-9). You cannot add anything from other parts of Scripture to l Corinthians 15:1-4 because this Gospel was kept secret by God and only Paul was made it’s minister (Colossians 1:25). The Gospel containing faith plus works of man is an invention of denominations and religions. They want to add law-keeping, water baptisms, tithing, repentance, joining a church, asking forgiveness, confessions of sins, and so on to God’s Grace. I visited your website & after reading all of your 'beliefs' would like to present this question, "How could you miss it?" We can clearly see a message preached in the book of Acts (Acts 2:38) which resulted in the salvation of 3k sinners. When this message is preached in Acts 3:19 then we see 5k sinners coming to faith in Jesus Christ. How can you not say that this is the gospel message that we should be preaching? Without repentance, there is no forgiveness of sins & no holy spirit. How can you say that a message that is written to the saints (Eph.1,1) is the gospel message? The saints already have salvation. That seems like something different. Anyway, I pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will open the eyes of your understanding to receive what I have told you.

Or perhaps a Protestant church - I quote the scriptures because the likes of William Tyndale (burned at the stake by the Catholics for translating the Bible) enable me to do so: 1 Timothy 4: "The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2 Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron. 3 They forbid people to marry..." Matthew 23.9 "And do not call anyone on earth “father”, for you have one Father, and he is in heaven." Luke 11.27: "As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out, ‘Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you.’ 28 He replied, ‘Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it.’"

*Calvinism is a FALSE GOSPEL.* Jesus died for *ALL of us* (John 1:29), (John 3:16,17), (John 4:42), (2 Corinthians 5:14, 15), (Romans 5:18), (1 Timothy 2:6), (1 Timothy 4:10,11)...etc. Because He is an incredibly loving and merciful God! A “god” who has billions of souls in His hands, all of them sinners, and who, being able to choose, chooses the *immense majority* to destroy them in hell!!, not to save them… could be sovereign, but *He is NOT a God of love, he is NOT a merciful God.* My calvinist friend, you are not going to like what follows. But it is *very important* that you know. I very much fear here is the deep and hidden root by which calvinism penetrates so easily into the corrupt human heart. Well, here it goes: You are not better than anyone. God didn't see anything special in you. Nothing. You are not worth a cent more than any of the billions of souls that your “god” is going to send to hell without any possibility of choice. The only reason God could choose you without violating His character, without being a respecter of persons, (Romans 2:11) is because He knew in advance that you would respond positively to His call. “For many are called, but few *chosen.* ” (Matthew 22:14) These are the chosen ones! Those who say: Yes! to the marriage of the Lamb. To give someone freedom of choice… Yes! That’s love!! "I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses today against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing; *CHOOSE,* therefore..." (Deuteronomy 34:19). Also, *the Bible does NOT say that we are totally depraved beings.* Be very careful friends! This statement could well come from the mouth of satan himself, who is completely depraved. *We still carry the image of God!* Let's not forget it. And because of that, we can *BELIEVE* and respond freely to God's call for salvation. *That limited atonement is an abomination.* Heresy of great caliber. There is nothing exclusive or limited about the cross. Nothing!! *He paid for ALL our sins* (Isaiah 53:6), (1 John 2:2), (John 12:47), (1 John 4:14), (Titus 2:11), (Hebrews 2:9). That is why Jesus commands us to preach to every creature in every nation. Irresistible grace? Not only is it a heretical concept (Acts 7:51), but it is absurd in its essence. Grace is a gift by definition. A gift that cannot be refused... is not a gift, it is an imposition. *Once saved, always saved, no matter what you do, it is one of the devil's biggest and best lies.* The Spirit of God is not up to nonsense! The entire New Testament is full of warnings, from Jesus and Paul, against apostasy. Warning someone of a danger that does not exist is stupid. The Spirit of God would never do such a thing. We need to study the Bible, but we urgently need to take off our Calvin glasses so we can see. Prayer and fasting. By the way, cessationism is another heresy. *All* the gifts of the Holy Spirit operate today for the glory of the Lord. God wants you to know it. (Sorry for my english)

Oh yea I didn't know that. I'm under the impression that Jesus did die for our sins to restore our relationship back to God. Jesus made it available for everyone to have a right relationship with God. Seems strange that we wouldn't have a choice. Doesn't seem like free will then. Just seems like robots. I always thought everyone had a choice to be in a relationship with God or not. I've been checking out the bible project on youtube and some of their videos. Its helped me work some stuff out. For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.(matt 16:21-27) St John tells us is that any Gospel that does not have the doctrine of Christ does not Have God and Is evil (2 John 9-11) St Paul tells us we mock God if we believe we have eternal life but do not live according to this Doctrine. Faith alone simply does not cut it (1 Cor 13:2) please read scripture not proof texts God Bless you bless you

Peter said: Acts 10:42 "He commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that he is the one whom God appointed as judge of the living and the dead." . Also Paul said :"For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead."Acts 17:30-31 and in Romans 2:16 "This will take place on the day when God judges people’s secrets through Jesus Christ, as my gospel declares." There is an essential element John Piper missed. Rarely do you find this element of Jesus as Judge in a gospel presentation but its essential to the Apostles "gospel"

“Why do I need forgiveness?” “Why do I need Jesus?” These questions were not even hinted at or covered - this is not the Gospel. Jesus preached the Gospel and He surely didn’t preach about His death, burial and resurrection. When we teach or talk about the Gospel, we must tell others “why” they need forgiveness, “why” they need Jesus.

Food for thought.....Jesus was commissioned by God to preach the gospel. He sent the twelve out in pairs and also the seventy to preach the gospel. Neither Jesus nor these disciples preached the death and resurrection. In fact, Jesus was rebuked by Peter at the mention of it. After the resurrection Jesus "opened the minds" of the disciples to understand the scriptures regarding how the messiah must suffer.........they had no idea prior to that. For 3.5 years the gospel was preached publicly without a word of the death and resurrection of Christ. Also, scripture tells us the gospel was preached beforehand to Abraham. No mention of the death and resurrection in this account either. All this should tell us the gospel is not the death and resurrection...it is something else. The death and resurrection of Jesus is of utmost importance and is indeed good news....our forgiveness and without his sacrifice the gospel he preached can not happen. The good news that the scriptures lay out for man is the restoration of all things back to God. The reestablishment of God's rule over this earth, His kingdom, government. That is why we pray "your kingdom come".....This government will do away with all things that plague mankind...war, sickness, pollution, violence......and eventually death. All this God will accomplish through Christ because of his sacrifice. The christian hope is a resurrection to eternal life on earth and rulership with Christ at his coming to help bring these things about.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is His death, burial, and resurrection. To be saved/ born again is to obey the gospel meaning to die( repent), be buried during water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ, and to resurrected in newness of life by Recieving the Holy Spirit. In John ch.3 Jesus told Nicodemus that he must be " born of water and Spirit". This is being baptized in the water and baptized in the Spirit. Acts 2:38 is how this is done. The tragic error of Protestantism is that that there is nothing we must do to be saved. In their zeal to break away from the Catholics salvation by works they went too far the other way. There is nothing we can do to earn salvation but obeying the gospel plan of salvation put us in position to recieve the free gift.
