John is the best, his unique sound, very recognizable, his playing, the crazy vibrato. Who better than him could pay tribute to Master Gary. I wait for your new record :)
@LT-qd9ts5 жыл бұрын
Much like Gary Moore, John is one of the best damn guitarists most people never heard of. He got a raw deal from Coverdale; never appearing in any of those videos or on tour off the '87 album. He would have stolen the spotlight and become a household name.
@verminfawlty-arat.56505 жыл бұрын
+LT9856 You've nailed it.Absolutely no doubt,regardless of what may or may not have happened between Sykesy & Coverdale,Coverdale was so,so threatened & jealous of John Sykes'talent.Once the record came out,if John would have remained,that would've got much worse,with all the deserved plaudits John would've rightly recieved ..
@tieukhavu88325 жыл бұрын
Thanks to Bob Daisley (ex- Black Sabbath, ex-Ozzy, ex-Rainbow and of course former bassist for Gary) to hiring some of the greatest musicians in the history of rock n roll to pay tribute for his friend. I love it. And Gary would love it too.
@heathday73605 жыл бұрын
@@LT-qd9ts The 87 album wouldn't ever be the same without Sykes. Coverdale screwed the pooch on getting rid of that talent. I'm so glad he took part in this. Gary is one of the all time greats. What a great compliment for Sykes. He's such a badass.

Over and over I listen to this without end after finding out about this song... Sykes is the greatest living metal Les Paul player there is in the world today... then to hear him cover another of my deeply personal heroes, Gary, knowing the pedigree they both hold, their similar styles, their shared friendship with Phil Lynott from different eras...you quickly realize what's brilliant about this track - and that is that John is NOT mimicking Gary at all...paying homage to him, you bet your ass... but John is just playing like John. I just can't even at this track...holy shit. I'm so happy he did this.

I jst got it 4 Christmas n have bn playing it non stop. Iv saw danny wit thunder n Phil n Gary playing n John wit lizzy n whitesnake. What a player too. Well done everybody involved. I met guitarist Gary backstage in Dublin after a gig unveiling a statue of Phil and he was lovely wit his dad and sister ,but I wouldn't mess wit Gary Moore. I have total respect. R.i.p. Phil n Gary
