John: The Beloved & Patmos | Pentecost to Patmos | Episode 15 | Lineage

John went from being a ‘Son of Thunder’ to ‘John the Beloved’, a remarkable change in character and he would go on to write five books of the New Testament. John was the only disciple to die a natural death and spent time on the beautiful and barren isle of Patmos in his later years where he wrote the book of Revelation after receiving a vision from God. This book has intrigued, inspired and guided Gods people since then, till now and will continue to do so until Jesus comes.

One based-upon-the-true-story book that well covered John persecuted by Rome, including being boiled in oil, yet surviving unharmed, is the book . It is a Biblical Novel that covers John's arrest, appearance before Domitian Caesar, being poisoned, (he didn't die), being boiled in oil, (he didn't cook), then hastily sent to a penal colony in Patmos where he eventually received the Book of Revelation. Also, most people do not know how John established a new Christian church there, plus was used by Jesus for many miracles. It's a very good book if you want to know more about John on Patmos.
