Don't hate th13teen, it was not designed to be the ultimate thrill machine, it is a family ride that is more focused on your mind than your body. It is a ride for everyone
@adam47579 жыл бұрын

Brendan Jackson If it's supposed to be a family ride, why does it have a drop section?

I didn't realise it was a genuine free fall with just really strong hydraulic brakes on the lower level, that makes it way more exciting. It's such an engineering marvel this ride whether it's thrilling or not. I really like the theme and I think it's great to have a coaster that younger people and adults can enjoy.

aye the mans a true talent to the industry. however who is to say that if john did not work with the towers something even more insane could have been built there. or something not as fun at all. if you catch my meaning

All these people are saying that 13 is too timid - that sudden drop in the complete darkness is enough to make me terrified of that ride, you are all just too hard core 😂

As much as i love Alton Towers and think they have some of the best rollercoasters in the UK, all the coasters seem very short in my opinion.
@DiRtYLaWs20075 жыл бұрын
Kevin Rogerson I feel the same way with most of them too, except perhaps The Smiler. That’s a pretty good length. What coasters do you feel have a good ride duration?
@exploringwithcam742 жыл бұрын
Some are the main reason why it’s short cuz it was a worlds first and they wanted to show the world what was possible
@SyntheticTorque2 жыл бұрын
It's mostly due to space and limitations. They can't build above tree line, and can't build in certain areas. So the coasters have to fit in a relatively small blueprint.

i like Th13teen but i wish it had a bit more track, maybe a helix that goes through the middle of a fake tree or a few more close to the ground turns.

@xtremespeed128 It goes backwards into a non banking diagonal drop, then it goes around a helix that climbs up. To add the sense of no control the helix's banking changes consistently. it keeps changing between a 55 degree banking to a 20 degree banking. So it would be like 55, 30, 40, 20, 35, 50, 20 etc. Hope this helps.
@ParamountFitnessTV2 жыл бұрын
Can you confirm what you mean by “non banking diagonal drop” please? I assume this means a drop in reverse to the left or right without a tilt to the carriage? Thanks.
@MeltedToast84 Жыл бұрын
@@ParamountFitnessTV You realise you commented on a comment that is 12 years old right? Anyway, basically the track just turns right and downwards without banking, before going into a larger upwards helix until it is out of the tunnel

13 is great all you haters out there dont appreciate the fact that alton towers have worked really hard on this ride to make it the best and the worlds first freefall drop rollercoaster i don't know what you expect they have made it so you can still go on it at a young age instead of waiting till like 11 years old to ride a rollercoaster i love 13 and i like the idea of it being THE WORLDS FIRST freefall drop on a rollercoaster thankyou alton towers -3

thirteen wasnt as good as john wardley's other projects to be honest, its very overrated all it has is simply.... some trees, some basic drops, and a piece of track that just so happens to seperate itself from another piece of track only to attach itself to another piece of track. Thats pretty much Thirteen in a nutshell.
@ellismiles91096 жыл бұрын
TheStrober It has 2 pieces of track that separate themselves; the other one Is just after the backwards section.
