The two fighters that John let live before he fought the sushi chef were both fight choreographers and actors in the Raid and Raid 2 films which are highly regarded "Gun Fu" films and inspirations for the action scenes in the John Wick franchise. Having them in a fight scene with John Wick was a salute to the Raid franchise. To echo the other comments that said it, you should really watch The Raid and The Raid 2.

@GooseVF-091815 күн бұрын
My first pup I had as an adult, I got her at 5 weeks old and she died at 16 1/2 years old. She was like my child. That was Feb 2022. I just adopted a pup in July this year that could have been her brother with their similar coat colors and behaviors. He’s my baby and I can appreciate when you don’t have that bond, you can’t understand the way it feels, but there’s no way in any world, I’d give him or her up especially for someone like that but in general. I don’t care what threats are being made, that pup is now a part of my family and is bonded to me until it’s time for him to leave this earth. He’s only 11 months old and with my autoimmunes, he’s attentive to me when I’m not well and he hasn’t even started service training. He’s also my personal security and is being trained for professional protection. He would lay his life down for me. No other living being on earth loves me that authentically and I never question anything. Without question I’d choose him every time

None of the John Wick movies have impacted pop culture like the first Matrix but the John Wick franchise is more consistent than the Matrix franchise
@prico335815 күн бұрын
I wouldnt say that. Matrix is to old and getting to the point where its not impacting anything anymore. Generation beta and alpha will not use the refrences and their technological achievements in media will be based off newer brands. John wick already influences kids more than matrix. I have 4 kids, they have no clue wjat the matrix is. They do know john wick tho.
@merrelluniverze575115 күн бұрын
yeah back in the day. not so much anymore lol
@2kooldancin15 күн бұрын
The Matrix is still very much relevant, especially the first movie. Sadly, as the op mentioned, the franchise as a whole is not as impactful as the first one or kinda the 2nd one, in not only movie making techniques but also universe wise. The John Wick movies do a better job of establishing a universe and interesting rules and characters.
@IAmHavok15 күн бұрын
The Matrix will forever be relevant as long as the idea that we live in a simulation exists and that idea will never go away. The John Wick Franchise's consistency has led to a spin-off that if it sticks the landing will lead to a continued shift in action films (which is honestly already happening with films like "Nobody" and the upcoming "Love Kills" staring Ke Huy Quan) which will domino into pop culture mote.
@prico335815 күн бұрын
@IAmHavok super wrong. Let me teach you something you didnt know. Most philosophical ideas all have a predecessor root named idea. For example i can pose a philosophical ides for the first time using an orange analogy, time and space. 50 years later a college profesor pose another variation of mine but uses a pirate ship analisis and time. But its the same idea. The simulation theory comes from a tree of previous philosofical idess posed by previous philosophers. Meaning, the core idea of simulation theory will stay, but the simulation worry would go away so much that it doesnt point its core idea good enought anymore or its irrelevant or the question is already answered.

From what I've heard, having the watch under the wrist is used mainly by the military. It's so it doesn't break easily and you can check the time even if you're holding a weapon.
@CertifiedSunset15 күн бұрын
It's easier to do pushups and any potential light or reflectivity giving away your position. Even a dim light shines bright as hell under night vision. Soldiers used to use their face paint on the watch glass because it's a matte paste that covers the shiny glass which reflects very easily. But yes, it also helps protect the glass and it helps for telling the time while shooting.

The shotgun you were thinking of is the TTI Dracarys Gen-12, it's a semi-automatic 12GA shotgun that looks like an AR-15. BTW TTI stands for Taran Tactical, the gun brand of Taran Butler, the guy who taught Keanu how to shoot for these movies since he's a profession 3-gun competitor. There's videos on youtube of Keanu and Halle Berry training on his course with live rounds.
@BobbyHomes-g7g14 күн бұрын
When you see him taking it apart and you guys thought he was modding his gun he wasn't actually modding his gun he was taking parts from other guns because none of the guns would actually function on their own as each one individually had an integral part that was needed for it to function properly taken out or removed but not the same part from every gun so he took multiple guns apart to put them all together into one functioning firing gun also call of duty shi

The old TV show "Mythbusters" tested shooting guns underwater and shooting from the air into water. The bullets slow RADICALLY when they hit water. There are other videos on KZbin that tested this as well. You get about 6 feet of range firing underwater. So the scene of Wick in the pool not being shot is fairly accurate.
@dartigens1013 күн бұрын
Yup. This is why forensics people (and some gunsmiths as well) use a water tank when they want or need to preserve a bullet for testing or comparison - literally, they just fire the relevant weapon (with the relevant ammunition) into a tank of water. Cheap, effective, and preserves the shape of the fired round too (as long as it's not designed to disintegrate, frangible ammo will still do that). And they don't even have to be particularly big water tanks.

The shotgun you saw at the show that looks like an ar is in wick 4. As for the time line where you said it started in august and it's now november, actually it's more september, the first movie is about 4-5 days, then a 3-4 day rest to find his car then movie 2 lasts about a 7-10 days. So far than is 2-3 weeks in wick time then this movie lasts about about 7- 8 days so in total month has gone by since the killing of the puppy. Now a bit of a spoiler wick takes a month or 2 to get fit before his return to the party.

There IS a John Wick game, called John Wick Hex... it's okay, apparently. I haven't played it, but I like the concept, it just could've been executed better apparently. Instead of being a real-time third person or first person shooter action game, it's more like a strategy game where you're presented with a room of bad guys, and step by step, plan out each move you do with the resources, time and space you have, moving to different spaces on a hexagonal-shaped grid (hence the name, hex). Stuff like stance, position, and range to an enemy have to be taken into account. It sounds like a cool concept, and while it doesn't capture the crazy pacing and adrenaline rush of the movies (very few games can illicit that feeling effectively without making compromises), it makes more sense for the types of battles John gets into than some generic third person shooter with bullet time, like a Max Payne ripoff. John Wick doesn't do that slomo shit. These movies are much more technical and moment-to-moment strategy-centric, so the game wanted to reflect that technicality.

1. The doctor is a REAL one, good lord. 2. Is it an acceptable crash out? This whole franchise is because he crashed out over a new puppy. The time and effort she put into those dogs... 😬😬
@Becca16509 күн бұрын
Nah, he ‘crashed out’ because they killed the one thing his wife left him. The puppy was not only an adorable companion, but the last physical connection to his wife. Her dying wish for him- and they killed it for no reason.
@DJKuroh9 күн бұрын
@Becca1650 I agree. That's why asking if her crashout was justified is unnecessary. The franchise already tells you a dog is not just a dog. As soon as he shot her dog, it was justified. It represented more than just a pet.
