If there’s one thing I do hope for in 3 is that they give us some insight on the relationship between John and Winston. I could be reaching but during their last conversation in Chapter 2 I believe it to be implied that John’s wife was Winston’s daughter. Which is why he had tears in his eyes as he gave him the marker and head start even though standard procedure is to kill on sight cuz he wanted to give his son-in-law a fighting chance.
