My take on these incredibly LONG shots is the possibility of making the game spookier over time. Just like baiting for whitetail deer in the USA made the trophy quality game basically nocturnal. And hunting from a tree blind made the game "look up" along with their regular ground foraging. What reason would a deer have to "look up"?

I wish i was there to shoot as well we are moving from our farm so i can t hunt any more this year is the virs time in 3 years i have hunted i shot 2 wild beasts and one worth hog

This is not NOT ethical hunting. Long range bragging should be left on the range. True hunters will stalk their game to something closer to 300 yards. You give all hunters and outfitters a bad name.

@@JohnXSafarisExperience I understand long range shooting, I compete at 1000 yds. and know the time and practice and equipment that it takes to hit something at that range. BUT I also know how much energy those rounds have left when they reach out that far. I can post all the charts on here if you want to but I doubt anyone would change their minds anyway.. I also understand management and congratulate nearly all of southern Africa on what you are all doing there. Wounding game happens as part of hunting I know and except that. Having spent a lot of time behind a rifle at the range, in combat (Vietnam) hunting here in the US as well as in Zim and RSA. I can't help but think that the more ethical way to hunt would be to get closer by stocking or from a blind. If the only way to manage is with long range shooting then so be it and I will say no more about it. But I wouldn't do it. Jim
