Yes. He writes straight to the heart. This Serenade compares extremely favourably with the Elgar.

I grew up with problematic sound...reel to reel tape recorded off of local radio stations? My dad putting a mike up to a turntable running old Swedish '78s full of scratches whilst many deafening aircraft from the local airport ran right above our suburb. I am adept at translating signal from noise. It was the famous Van Nuys airport, from where many Korean Warplanes launched. Music and noise were my companions from an early age.
