I guess in music videos when you see the band playing, and the vocals mouthing the words, the audio you are hearing is actually them right there in that moment? Why wouldn't the same apply 'live'? If you know your part so well, and know how YOU play your own stuff, why would it not be possible to mime your own playing on tour??? Subject matter expert or not, people can tell when something is off.

John 5 is the last thing I worry about when it comes to Motley Crue “live”. They suck tremendously anyway and IF I ever saw them live again, 5 would be the best part of that show I’m sure of it.

This is what happens when you have people online that don't know what they are talking about yet claim to be experts in a certain field. Rest of Mötley i don't give much for when it comes to their instruments but John 5 is a top level guitar player all through.

To be fair, him posting a video showing that he can play the part doesn't prove or disprove the use of a backing track.....

Maybe he's just using back tracks of some other band members? 🤔 When does he have the opportunity to do that, why not?! 😄

​@@Igoya972 I was referring to him using a backing track of him playing guitar. Him posting a video actually playing the song does not prove or disprove him using a backing track while on tour. He could still very well have been using a backing track just like the other musicians.

Yeah, in the video it still kind of sounds like he should be hitting that first chord, but it doesn't look like he does.

Very clearly playing it with his left hand in his demo, and you can see his left hand doing _something similar_ in the live show. But at least ‘somebody on the Internet’ got their 5 seconds of fame, huh?

I didn't think that John would need that but that doesn't prove that the others do, at least Nikki ain't playing and some others sings voice overs and doubling over Vince as he cannot carry a tune

When you join a band of losers that do use backing tapes you're going to be accused of using them too, Mick Mars did refuse to use backing tapes, I think that John 5 can do better than to play with a bunch of losers like Motley Crue. I used to be a huge Motley Crue fan but now I'm not, my t shirts just lay in the drawer collecting moth holes.
