I grew up in Boston and one thing is for sure, the Irish Americans in Boston are tough. I grew up in the late 70’s to the 80’s and lived in Mission Hill which was 90% Irish, I’m a mutt(mixed with Cape Verde, Sicilian and Black) So, I wasn’t Irish and that was a problem, lol. Looking back, I’ve been in a few dangerous hoods over the years and because of the fights I had growing up with the Irish, I’ve always held my own. What’s funny is, when I visit Boston, the same guys who called me a nigger as a kid, now have half black or Hispanic children. How things change. Very positive message coming from men who survived real life street shit. Thanks for sharing.

Gene shouldve listened when Bobby said "you learned when to speak and not to speak". It was compounded by Anthony then later saying that "guys under the age of 40 don't really know about the Mafia". Gene really feels like he's sat amongst equals but it's apparent to everyone other than him in the room that he isn't.
@mrt4453 жыл бұрын
I actually agree with Gene. People like you feel like the older mafia guys are somehow special and incapable of being taken out just because you've watched a few movies. Most of them are either dead or spending the rest of their lives in prison. That's nothing to be impressed about.

I think by now , I’ve watched this several times and it is the best interview of these men I’ve ever seen. Bobby is a very well spoken intellectual that can really tell us how it really was and I think I’m not the only one that could hear the theme to The Godfather playing in the background when he spoke. Anthony is also a very intelligent, well spoken with a very smooth voice and it’s amazing how they came out of this. I think of all the stories and insight from the last few months I have been listening to, I have greater respect for the people that live back East. They have tough skin to endure the brutal things that happens over there. When the dust settles from this 2020 Goat Rodeo, I need to make a trip to New York. This, again, by far is the best interview ever. Great job.

John, Gene, & Felix: you've done a fantastic job. I've watched many interviews or podcasts of made men and the script or questions are almost always the same. Interviewers trying to get a reaction after mention of violence so typical it's become redundant. A special thank you to the other 3 gentlemen who appeared as today's guests. They gave this whole show a feeling of old friends sitting around a pinochle game, or in the lounge reminiscing about the past. I can't thank you enough for allowing us a glimpse into your world. This is the most civilized conversation I have seen in many years. These men were in a violent style of life but they surely know the meaning of respect; when one talks, the others listen and no personal attacks . As a New Yorker who grew up in the neighborhood that produced a Gotti and an Al Capone, I am impressed but not surprised. We lived in that neighborhood for five years when we first moved here from Puerto Rico . As children we had no idea of our real surroundings. All I know is that we were befriended by the jews and Italian Americans and that we were always safe. The people in our neighborhood were family oriented and at least on the surface lived normal law abiding lives. We loved the church dances and the delicious Italian pastries. Regardless, It was the fifties in Brooklyn, the teenage gang era and many of those kids ended in the organized crime families. My respect goes to you, your program and your very interesting guests.
@truthteller44424 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Today’s world would be an amazing place if people followed the RESPECT example that these guys conduct themselves with. Even little simple things here are great to see....They don’t talk over each other, they listen intently, they let the other person finish talking before they speak. Simple things like that provide for such a better and more cohesive environment. Generally speaking, the only people these guys ever whacked were the disrespectful punks that thought they were special and shit all over everyone.
@hildaovalle14554 жыл бұрын
@@truthteller4442 I agree. I’m not making excuses for breaking the law, but many of the youngsters who made organized crime their lifestyles are practically forced by their environment and their needs to make a living. To John and Gene. I admire what you guys are doing with your show. I've commented on other videos you've put out and on other forums where others are doing the same, like Sammy's show/P.C., Gunner Lindbloom, L.Mazza, etc. I grew up with relatives involved in the life although I was too young to know at the time and my parents went out of their way to keep me and my brother and cousins away from it. I was a F.F./medic for 30 + years for one of the largest, metropolitan Fire/E.M.S departments in the country and have seen the results of mob, gang, cartel violence and know how kids are drawn into it looking for acceptance, brotherhood, wealth and respect and truly respect what you guys are doing to discourage them. I've seen the negative comments and flack you guys get from those who dont believe in your sincerity and think you're just capitalizing on your past. To the doubters I ask what are they doing? I also ask what would you expect these guys to do? They're sending a positive message and if they can earn a living doing so is it not better than what they once did. I'm sure it's also somewhat therapeutic for you as well. I believe you're lives are better spent doing what you're doing than rotting away in a cage. I'm truly amazed at how many of you guys there are who have openly admitted to your crimes, taken responsility for them and have the courage to openly dispel the myths and treachery of the life and publicly denounce it. It takes a lot of courage to do so and it is commendable. The only thing I dont understand is your position on Michael Franceze. I've heard you both explain how there are "earners" and "gangsters" in a family and both have their place or function. I've never heard Franceze claim he was tough guy and has admitted he doesnt really have the stomach for or enjoy the violence in the life. He has always stated he was a "money guy" and has never claimed he was anything but. I'm sure he's done things he'd rather not admit to especially if it can be used against him. He didnt aspire to be involved until his father received a 50 sentence. He, no doubt might have risen a little quicker because of his father but that's usually the case (in any proffesion) if they feel that the son has the same qualities as the father. He seemed to be very successful at what he did. I also dont understand mocking him for using the term "Capo Regime". His experience was in a different family at a different time and it is the term that was used for decades by the older, more traditional members. I know it sounds a little dated now. Anyway, I'm not trying to be critical of you guys. Again I respect and admire what you're doing. He's trying to do the same thing and his situation and experiences were a little different albeit with a lot of similarities. Anyway, keep the stories coming, enjoy them all and good luck and God bless you guys.

Yup I remember being very young in Somerville MA and you would hear stories about these mafia guys killing people. You would see the FBI raid houses all the time, the house I lived in had some mob activity because after my aunt moved in the FBI kept coming by asking for some Guys with Italian names she said. The guy across the st used to cook for them and they played cards in his basement, he had a HUGE German Shepard in the backyard. Rumor was they buried a body under the dogs little caged in area. NOBODY went back there but when the dog was out of the yard he was the nicest dog ever. I remember petting him almost everyday and his head was so big! Somerville was a tight knit city where everyone knew each other and got along for the most part. Fighting was normal and nothing serious, you had to fight though if you backed down nobody would let you play football or stick ball lol. I was like 7 years old and I’d fight the little racist kids that were too small for my cousins to beat up. All they did was offer me a piece of candy and I was kicking ass. 😅😅 now that I’m older I realize how bad that is but it was normal in those times. I would never start fights but you weren’t going to talk trash to me young or older. I’d call my cousins if you’re to big for me and if they had people we called my cousins sisters boyfriend and his brothers. It was like 4 big Haitian guys lol and one was a black belt. I was there when the city turned into a diverse city with Haitians, Asian,Spanish and Portuguese. Before that it was mainly Irish and Italian. Most of them were cool but you always have those little racist bastards lol. They all got dealt with though, one thing we hated was racist white people.

How can you respect that lying steroid taker he's been caught out talking shite so much, Just because he's Albanian heritage doesn't mean you should respect that clown 🤡 I'm a proud Irishman but that doesn't make me respect that scumbag whitie Bulger there's a proper dirtbag... Look forward to the real sit-down of the real deal with Sammy and Michael Franzize now that should be good?? All a bit of history and it's crazy to think how long the mob lasted all thanks to lucky lucciano Myer lynski and building the commission what a move👍 Ur a bunch of tuff guys there so respect as they say from Dublin🇮🇪🇮🇪

@@eoinmaguire6691 hey ur irish but im from Boston and i know bulger way better then you. Alite has made all of us proud for the turnaround that he has made and accepted all the wrongs hes done. He lessons the young for a better life. Bulger had no hart and no compassion alite is a way better person then bulger

@@BigE.Celula Come here I'm not arguing with you, Bulger was rotten 2 the core we know that, But Alite has been caught out so much it's embarrassing, I'm not saying he wasn't involved in that life but in no way as much as he makes out.... Fair play he's turned his life around and trying to give positive msgs... That other rat Bulger supposedly sent a shipment of arms across the pond for the IRA and the boat which I believe was called "The vallhala" was caught by Irish police and army now I wonder who tipped them off about that my bet is on Bulger?? Ur the first person I've heard that's proud Alite sure he couldn't of been involved in the life 4 long I'm nearly the same age as him he must be only in his mid fifties?? And one more thing I've lived a long and tuff life so don't patronise me by saying you live there and no Bulger alot better then me, You don't no me from the man on the moon and we all no people on both sides of the law... I'm not arguing I'm not one of these clowns that talk big over the internet utube watever the fuck I'm just giving my opinion and regards my first comment 2 you I was nothing but respectful... Luv Boston by the way my brother in-law is a cop there😂😂 So there you go we all no people on both sides of the law👍🇮🇪🇺🇸🇮🇪

Why wouldn't Alite rather be with and earn money with the Albanian mob(if there is one)? Why work so much to impress the Italians who flat out say that he could never really be one of them? If he was with the Italians just for the money,that's one thing,but seems like it was more than that for him.

@@AristotleSanchez1000 first of all dont try to disrespect me by saying “ if there is an Albanian mob” as if im implying smth ok boy. he wasn’t the first non Italian in the family. back than there was not an Albanian mafia because of the dictatorship albania was in. for ur exclusive info yes there is an Albanian mafia.

Amazing conversation. Bobby is a natural born leader. Clear as day. The way he speaks is soft, easy, yet to the point and devoid of bullshit. Open and honest speech that comes across as just authentic. Its easy to see why he would be such an effective mob boss. Arillotta seems like a smart, sharp, low-key guy. He might not be too into Bobby's idea of a podcast up in Boston though, lol. Seems like he just wants to stay low key, make money, and re build his relationship with his daughter, and I don't blame him. Also seems like hes got some shit going on in his head thats bothering him/stressing him out, maybe even weighing heavy. Luisi is captivating as hell though. His no bullshit tone is refreshing. I like the way he carries himself. Thanks for this podcast, gentlemen. I know it was released a while ago, but it was a pleasure none the less. Maybe the best I've seen on this channel so far. Shout out to Gene too. Hope you're doing well bro. Chin up.

I listen to a lot of "mob" podcasts because I find them interesting and entertaining. It never ceases to amaze me how these folks never seem to have true remorse. When asked whether they had remorse on this episode to a person they said they're sorry they put their family through hard times when they were in prison. Not one of them said they were sorry for putting their victims or their victim's families through the hell they experienced. It's like nothing outside their own personal worlds actually even exists. True sociopaths.
